Why? I have two registered miniature dachshunds that I have not bred but I might if my male does not have an inherited disorder. So, why are you looking for breeders?

The internet is filled with bad breeders. Any "breeder" who is willing to sell anybody a puppy just as long as they get their money is bad news. You might be able to find websites of good, reputable breeders though.. or better yet, a rescue! :D

Well said OhMyDog .. reputable breeders do not put ads on the internet.. but do have great websites you can visit :)

I'm always very wary of breeders who sell pups thru PayPal. That assures that they have as little contact with the buyer as possible, which is the exact OPPOSITE of what it should be. A good breeder should request that you meet them and the dogs, or talk on the phone a LOT before shipping a dog..
As for me.. I might breed Ripley in the next 4-5 years if he has his A.D. title (at LEAST) and gets his hips, elbows, knees, eyes, heart and genetics tested with good results. If not, then he will not be bred.
If I don't breed Ripley, and if I don't breed the GSD I plan to acquire in the future, then I don't think I'll be breeding my own ***** for at least another 10-15 years.
I love Papillons, and I love my Ripley, but if the qualities he takes away from the papillon breed even come CLOSE to the good qualities he adds to the breed, then I don't want to breed him.
