We are currently torn over which dog we want to get next, the French bulldog, the English Bulldog or the Neo Mastiff. We are wanting to Show. We have an English currently, she is fixed and had a tail amputation so is not show quality. Plus she's too much of a diva! My personal worry is the size of the Neo and the potential food bill! My English doesn't eat much and i know frenchie's wont eat much, they have to stay at 28lbs i think. We want a dog that is going to get along with our current 3 and our two cats plus children. Anyone got any experience with either Frenchies or Neos?

In my opinion, Neo's are not a breed to be entered into lightly. They are a Mastiff and will act like a Mastiff, so if you are a fan of Bullys this dog might not be quite for you.

I'd vote frenchie, they don't have quite as many problems as english bulldogs and are great with other dogs, kids, cats, well everything; they're little powerhouses! Mastiffs from what i've seen tend to be more toward the dog aggressive side, not that all will be but they're a very tough breed.

What about an American bulldog? They've got the size of a mastiff and the personality of a bulldog. Were pretty sure one of your dogs has American bulldog in him, and he is the biggest sweetheart in the world. He literaly likes to be picked up like a baby and hes 110lbs.

American Bulldogs are recognized by the UKC so if she'd like to show in that ring then these guys are definitely a good option. However they're not recognized by the AKC as of yet.

I believe the OP also has an Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog, so an American Bully might be a good idea!

My most recent foster was an American, she was great. We think smaller bulldogs will be easier to show as this will be our first time showing. We've already picked out our new babies! The Mastiff was a no go, we love the breed but we don't feel we have the expertise to own one just yet.
Mandy- i want a pug too, in fact i'd take most breeds if i had the space and the money! Pugs are such little characters.

neo mastiff are big dogs.. so if you have a nice big house its not a problem.. but if you live in a condo.. go for the Frenchie.. or the english.. i might choose the Neo if im in your case.. hehe
