Hey, I saw that this said "introduce yourself", so I'm going to introduce myself.
I'm 15 years old
I ride horses
I'm from Texas (Yee haw!)
And I like birds of all kinds a lot, so when I saw that there was a forum about parrots, I jumped on it. Well, I guess this is my introductory post, so, there it is... that's all... I'll post something interesting soon... that is all.:)

HI there I'm 15 too and in Texas I have a 2 year old budgie named Hamlit and will be getting a grey in ????. I'm happy you found us:D

I don't actually have any birds: my parents don't approve of them. I did manage to get a dog, a turtle, and two fish... but I don't have any birds, even though I love 'em :) So, I just wanted to clear that up from the start: I don't want anyone to think I'm posing or something... But I do love birds, and I love talking about them and researching stuff on them, so... yeah... that's about it... (sorry if my posts seem to wander off, but I talk until I don't have anything more to say, and end with an elipse...)

thats ok that you don't have any birds. I've been posting on african grey boards for three years and I've never had a grey I just love them and love to talk about them:p
what kind of fish do you have?

I used to have a fighting fish, but he killed himself by bashing himself against the sides of his bowl (I think he saw his reflection there...) which was sad... now all I have are some goldfish... I'm thinking about getting some new fish soon.

Hi! That's too bad your parents don't approve of birds. Why not??? They are sooooo sweet (can be, anyway!). Just a few minutes ago Kirby and I were having a "conversation" in "conurish" and "humanish" (well, mixtures of both I guess you could say) that went on for about ten minutes! I'm sure that Kirbs knows what he's saying, but of course I don't, so we answer back and forth as if we DO and it's so cute!(especially his little squeaky voice!) It's almost as if we do know what each other is saying yet we don't, well, I can't really explain it but I'm sure some of you know what I mean! Anyway, I got off on a tangent..., maybe someday you'll be able to get a bird! So..., what kind of dog do you have? Also, what kind of turtle? I used to have a baby red-eared slider that was only about two inches long, and the cutest turtle on earth! (I'm sure yours is cute too, though!) Well, enough for now!

red-eared sliders are cute I use to have one but at that time I didn't know they couldn't eat without being under water and one day it wasn't there anymore and my parents told me it had run away ;) I don't think I beleave them anymore.

Ooooooh...:( How sad! I found mine in my walk-out pit which would mean that it fell about 5 feet onto hard concrete, and it was very far away from the lake and creek so I kept it for a few months then let it go again. I never looked up too much stuff about it anyway, so it's good I let it go! (otherwise, my mom probably would have said the same thing too one day about it "running away"...) Hope no one minds that this is off the subject of parrots!

Red-eared sliders are really cool: I, however, have a box turtle. She hasn't really grown anywhere near to the size it's actually supposed to be: I think she's a runt. My dog is a yellow lab.

Box turtles are really cool too I 've never had one but my sister wanted one until she got a hamster so I had to read up on them.

I had a hamster once. One time, it escaped, and I had to search under all the furniture in the house to find it. That's about the extent of my hamster stories...

my family has had 4 Hamsters and all but the one we have now has died in like a month:(

That's funny! With mice, you definitely get your money's worth too!!! I bought a male mouse about 4 years ago, and then my brother was sad b/c somehow he had thought that he was getting one too, so my dad went back and got him one! My dad isn't really the animal person (though he does have a hamster!) so he didnt' even think to check if the 2nd mouse was a male or female- turns out, it was a girl! So, we only had one cage so put them both together thinking we'd get a second cage quickly. Unfortuneately, it was too late and the female had seven pinkies in just a few weeks! Then we separated them, but it was too late, she was already ready to have another set! So, we had 16 mice and as you probably can guess, it's terribly hard finding homes for mice!!! (other than ot people with snakes lol) Most kids wanted one, but their parents were freaked out by their "horrible tails". ( I think they're cute :) )By then I was going crazy b/c male mice fight once they get a certain age, and I also had to separate the females from the males to keep them from breeding. So, I had about 8 cages of mice in my basement- and had to clean them each once a week! After a few weeks I had found homes for most of them and thought all was safe, but somehow one of the females had gotten out of her cage and teh next week had seven more!!!! Thankfully now I'm down to 0 mice (after 23, you get kinda tired of them!), but I guess it was a good deal- 23 mice for $4.00!!!

I had a guinea pig, named Max, that I thought was a guy. I bought another guy guinea pig, and it wasn't we had a few more guinea pigs than we bought that we realized Max was a girl!
