Heartgard makes my dog sick

The first time I gave my dog Heartgard, he threw up about 2-3 hours later. He also had shots that day so I wasn't sure if it was the vaccination, or a combination of both that had made him sick. I gave him another dose of Heartgard yesterday and he threw up again. With him throwing up each time he's taken it, I'm wondering if he retained any of the medicine in it. Also, is there another heartworm medication that's worth trying?

There are so many wonderful heartworm medications. Have you talked with your vet about any of this? Your dog may have an allergy to beef. Generally, if the medication has been in the system for an hour, it's usually good to go.
