Do any of you have birds who get car sick??? Sophie got car sick on our way to the vet. However the vet did all the tests and said she was healthy so I figured it was carsickness. Just curious do any of yur birds do this?? She had never done this before but the road was bumpy and there was lots of construction

Did she throw-up? What were her symptoms? Poor Sophie.

Do you put her in a carrier?

how old is the car? check if there is carbon monoxide leaking inside the car, lower the windows a little bit to let the air in, a little carbon monoxide inside the car will not harm human but will make the bird sick..

No, none of my birds have ever gotten carsick. They love car rides! I'm glad that Sophie is in good health now. :)

A little dried papaya might help.

Personally I have not ever had this problem, but a fellow bird lover I know has, her amazon gets really car sick. I am sorry that i don't know what she does to help the situation, but I can check it out.

She was vomitting. But is better now. It is the first time it happened. The only thing I can think of that may have caused it was the perch in her carrier(this was the first time she perched on it) Or the road construction(people kept coming inot our lane and we had to stop suddenly, we almost got hit 3-4 times)

Also she was eating, something she usually doesn't do on a car trip.

Birdygirl, was her cage covered? Glad you didn't get hit!!! Yes, probably the eating and the car movement and everything did the trick.
