Our son got engaged last Monday!

aww, weddings are more exciting than babies! congrats, and I hear ya on the wedding costs, we were engaged a year, I cheaped out on most things and still racked I wanna think a 10,000 bill. including my dress.(which was far more expensive than it should have been, but damn, it was pretty :P)

Yes, even with doing the ceremony in a field (more or less) and having the reception in the local firehouse she is still coming up with a $16,000 bill. Not sure how it is still so much with the two biggies taken care of.
