His fins are kinda gnarly, but the fish store man gave me a little dropper of stuff to put in the bowl but said it might just be coz he was an older fish when i bought him.

Yup! That's the stuff out of my garden. And the tanks have that for putting gravel in but i hate gravel now.

I love your bettas! I'm happy you went with the name Dexter- I love it! My betta looks identical to Chuck. The purple/pink/bluish ones are beautiful. I have a girl betta in my community tank. I felt bad for her because she was at the fish store forever. No one wanted her because the girlies aren't as colorful as the boys. :( I brought her home and she is very happy and I happen to think she is beautiful.
I was gonna say Chuck's fins look a littly iffy...but they should clear up with the drops, do you know what the guy gave you?
