Hello, everyone - it has been a while since I popped in here but you may remember we have dalmation mollies and platys (regular and Mickey Mouse) that have been reproducing. Hubby set up a "nursery tank" for the babies and all told, we have about 20 young fish: 6 or 7 platys and the rest are mollys or dalmation mollys. Question: this evening one of our adult platys was at the bottom of the tank hovering over the rocks. It doesn't seem sick or in distress but it sure got upset when other fish came over to it...is this a birth thing? I have not knowingly seen any birthing ...we just see the wee ones at the bottom of the tank. We have no idea how long they have been there so I would sure appreciate more info about all this. Thanks in advance. :)
