i have a strange question, or so i think it might be strange. we are going out of town for 5 days. we have an aquatic turtle. is there anything like an automatic feeder for our turtle so we don't have to have a neighbor come in our home every day to feed him. we are going to put a timer on his light but are quite concerned about his eating.
thanks, lucy:confused:

A healthy, well-fed turtle will be fine for 5 days without food. I would do a full water change before you go and one full change when you return.

speaking of well-fed: we only give our aquatic turtle the little log-type food. what else can he eat?

What type of turtle is he??
I have an Eastern painted turtle, two years old. I rotate 3-4 different types of dry food along with providing vegetables of varying types. He will eat floating kale, and pretty much any veggie we have for dinner, too. I just drop it in and it sinks and he munches it. He also gets feeder fish every now and then... I pull a few from the batch I give to my wolf fish.

I have a baby red ear slider and he eats all kinds of aquatic turtle food (some I have to cut up and make smaller) and frozen blood worms and frozen brine shrimp, and sometimes he gets lettuce. My vet told me that the Brine Shrimp was really good for my turtle, since because of his size, he can't eat fish, and the whole brine shrimp give him most of the nutrients he'd be getting from eating whole fish.
