I have the worst luck in the world with rentals!
We've been here 4 1/2 months, and again are finding ourselves having to move.
My hubby was laid off last month, so I couldn't pay July's rent.
I was prepared to pay it today, and although we'd still be a month behind, at least we would only be one month behind...
Well, he refused payment and told us to vacate the property instead.
School starts in 3 weeks, and I am just at a total loss as to where to even begin.

I'm sure somewhere someone is having a grand ole time laughing at my life, but its time for them to stop and give me a break.
I dont know how much more I can endure.

I'm really sorry to hear this... I really hope you find somewhere soon. You really aren't having the best of luck, you're due a turnaround.

And may I say, your landlord is a major tw*ttin w***er.

Will you be able to stay with some relatives/friends for a while until you find a new place? I really wish you the best of luck. You never know, this could turn out to be a blessing in disguise. You might find somewhere so much better. Keep your chin up. x

Renting sucks. I've done it all my life, and have reached the conclusion that I would rather own a literal one room shack with no utilities than rent a nice place if I had the opportunity. You are just totaly at the mercy of someone else for the greatest need you have, and that someone else is usually one who has either unherited property and never been desperate and scraping to get by or is a faceless corporation.

Sorry I can't come up with anything cheerful and optimistic on this particular subject, it's one that keeps me awake at night myself.:( You do have my sympathy and best wishs at least.

Even if it comes to a crappy little weekly rental until then, maybe at tax time you can put a down payment on a used mobile or something?

I know we'll figure something out, we always do.
I'm just getting worn out from it all.
Hubby starts a new job on Monday (yay), so we will be back up to 2 incomes again.
I'm just not looking forward to the list of people who will say "NO PETS"... which I know is comming.
I'd love to try and buy something, anything, but our credit is crap.
The bank suggests getting a secured credit card, but you have to have the extra $400 laying around to secure them with.. and we all know how money grows on trees.

I finaly got one that while it isn't secured, it came with a $200.00 limit, and it cost $150.00 (billed to the card) to get it. I got the $150 paid off, and use it for something small each month. That way it gets used and paid, but I never exceed over half my limit. Supposedly that will get me a credit history. I didn't have bad credit, I had just never had any. And this way I always have that in reserve in case of an emergency vet bill.

I feel for you. I also am having financial difficulties. I've been laid off since Feb. and the job market here is non existent. Vegas has 1 in every 13 homes foreclosing. I've been given a 30 day notice to catch mine up. My camera went on the block. It's sale has given me a two month reprieve.

The economy is terrible, and giving me nightmares.

Good luck, I hope you find a sweet little place to rent.

I'm so sorry to hear this Hunna. Hopefully you'll find a new place quickly.

Becky I was wondering if you were out of work or something - I hope you are able to find a job soon. Do they offer unemployment benefits in Nevada?

Diane, I'm on unemployment, but it's only about 1/3 of what I used to make.

I hope work comes my way pretty soon too!

Yes, while unemployment is only a supplement at least it is something.

Things are bad all over.

I'm so sorry to hear about your financial difficulties. I can empathize, I lost my job in '07 when my wife was finishing school. We lived off credit cards for 5 months and are paying dearly for it now so I strongly urge people not to rely on credit.

When you find your new place, look around Dave Ramsey's (http://www.daveramsey.com/) site and listen to some of his audio broadcasts (free). It's amazing how well it works if you can apply it to your life, and never need to use a credit card. You've made it this far without one haven't you?

Hunna, have you looked into subsidized housing or rent geared to income housing? The place I run is a low income housing facility which is privately owned but has an agreement with the City which allows us to rent to low income families and have the City subsidize a portion of their rent. Many Government housing facilities have long waiting lists, but if you are willing to take something smaller, or an apartment you might be able to find some help?

I did try that route, but it takes forever. I was on the waiting list for over a year. When they called to varify my Hubbys pay, they accidentally got his Dads pay instead, which was too much to recieve help. I explained to them their mistake, that they had recieved information on JR and not "III". They said it didnt matter, that I would have to start completely over at the bottom of the list, which is now longer than when I first tried.

We have a place to view tomorrow, I am hoping its suitable. There is also a new listing in the paper I want to check into, but its a little further away from my job and babysitter than I would like.

Moving just sucks.
