How can you tell what type of turtle you have???

I have 2 turtles, I got them both when they were really little awhile ago. Now they are growing really big and they both look completly different. And also I know strange question...how do you tell if its a boy or girl? lol just curious...id appreciate some advice from turtle experts :))

Can you post a picture of them? If you can get a shot of the carapace and the plastron, I should be able to I.D. it for you.

It will depend on the type of turtle on how you tell what sex it is. :)

I got the turtles in Florida like 2 or 3 years ago and Im going to try to post pictures of them lol..im kinda new to this whole thing lol

You can search on google about types of turtle...
posting their pictures too can help us identify the type easily...

I have one RES in my apartment her name is zhaykee...
the pet shop staff told me that my turtle is female...
and i asked him how he know it...
he said based on the shell...
I don't know if that is true...
