Look at them go! They're so cute. I'd be a crazy cat lady if I was Tiffers!

Great photos as usual Tiff. :) I forget their names, but the wee lad/lassie (??) with the cut on his forehead seems to be healing up well, beautiful colour. You deserve a positive outcome after the last few months that you've had. :)

They're so lovely and from what I can gather they're doing really well! Well done to you. Makes me want a kitten again seeing them! Pip

Thank you everyone...they are just so fun! ...I tried to let them roam around an exam room today...they were horrified. I think they like their little confined kennel...it's strange, they'll run around the bedroom like it's nobodies business...

They're looking good Tiffers! It's got to feel good to see them doing so well. For me, I don't really LIKE it when they start breaking things, but at the same time... I love it when they are doing well enough and have grown enough to be breaking things. That's when I finally feel like I can relax and enjoy the ride until they find their forever homes. Good job with these two! You've had a rough spring - it's high time you get to tell a story that turns out thsi way. :-D

Thanks, Jenna. It's definitely a good feeling...we can't seem to get ahead of the coccidia, though...we're researching other medications to help. But, they are otherwise healthy! In fact, they're both over 1 pound now! :D

They look great Tiffers! What do you generally use to help clear up coccidia? We're habitually Albon users but I'd love to know if there's anything good out there that will help.

What have you used? Iz and B had coccidia when we got them. I don't remember what we ended up using - the first med didn't work. I'll do some checking, maybe I can find the label (I usually keep them in a file so I know what they've had and when)...

We generally use Albon as well, but from what we've read...most sulfa-drugs. We read a few places that Panacur will do something, but...these two were given Panacur as a general dewormer. I know you can't cure Coccidia, you can decrease the numbers and the immune system has to run it course...but, still.

We do it twice daily, for two weeks. I know some people do it once daily for 7 days, same dose...but, we've seen a million Coccidia cases in the past few weeks...it's outrageous how much Coccidia is coming out of the woodwork lately. :yikes:

Yeah, we've got it bad this year too in the rescue. We actually do .75cc the first day then .50cc twice a day for up to 14 days but sometimes we'll go to 21 days for the Albon. If they have parasites really bad we'll pair with Panacur too. Sometimes I worry about over doing it on their little systems though.

...if you're giving .75cc the first day, then .5cc after that, you're kittens are quite a bit older than mine. :p ...the label dose is .25cc/lb. My kittens just barely reached a pound, so their immune systems aren't as great as older kittens. They do get Lysine once a day though, in their food. But, we'll just have to see. The weekly fecals show that the numbers in Coccidia are decreasing, but very...very slowly.

My guys are normally around 1.5lb, I haven't had the joy of an itty bitty with coccidia...yet.
