I am treating my cat for tapeworm. My vet believes she got this when she was outside before I found her and adopted her. I just want to know if my birds can catch this? They are in a seperate room from the cat.

I think your kitty probably got the worm from eating some type of rodent. Rodents will carry the tapeworm during certain cycles of the worms life. I'm pretty sure the only way your bird would be able to get would be if it ate your cats feces. Gross, I know and I doubt your bird would do that. But that's just a little info. It also depends on which type of tapeworm your cat has but I think they would all spread the same way.
