hello all! i'm new to the forums; joined cos i am in need of suggestions. i'm having my graduation party in a few weeks, at a neighborhood park/pool area. i have 2 pups and a lot of my friends and family who will be attending the party are also dog owners, and we love to let our dogs get together and play in our backyards and stuff. problem is, the park area is wide open-- no fences! my goldie would be perfectly obedient, but my mutt and a few other of my friends' dogs are not so good. i don't think a dozen leashes or tethers would be very practical, so can anyone come up with a good suggestion of how to enclose these dogs (a dozen or so) without spending a fortune?

i've looked for playpens on the web, but they're all pretty expensive and REALLY small! i'm talking about an area big enough for them to run around in. and something not permanent, obviously -- we have to be able to take it down at the end of the night. looking to keep it under $40.

any suggestions??

Hi and welcome to the forums.

This is something I've never heard asked before so not sure what to tell you. Except that before you spend the $40 you should check with the park/pool you are having your party at to see if they'd even allow you to have dogs present. I wouldn't be surprised if you wouldn't be prohibited from having "doggie" guests at your party.

If you find you are allowed doggie guests I've heard of these expandable, circular, wooden enclosures - kind of like the old wooden baby gates they used to make.

actually, maybe you could have your party at a dog park and let the dogs off leash? one of our local clubs has parties all the time at the dog park. they bring food and drinks and the pupsters can run free.

If that isn't an option, you can get ex-pens, but most likely that will cost you much more than $40 to put enough of them together to give the pupsters enough room. I don't know any that are inexpensive unless you want to build your own.

What about renting panels of some sort? Like maybe the kind they use to block off an area when building something?

And, since it'll probably cost more than $40, maybe see if you guys can pool the money together? Take the cost of the rental and divide it by the number of people with dogs, and that's what you all pay.

Hope you have fun!
