Hi Everyone,

I am going to be getting a new little boy puppy, and I need to pick out a name for him. Does anyone have an interesting or different name for him? He is a a reddish orange poodle mix. Some of the names of my other male animals are: trix, pip, tiger, aladdin (rescued cats :) ), and sky (a horse). Any and all names are appreciated. Thanks!

Hmmmm, names are hard, because I think they kind of pick out thier own. I have always liked the Roman God type names, like Olypus, and Hercules. But, there is a book that I really liked as a teenager called Clan of the Cave Bear, and one of the main characters was Dondalar. Might be a little out there, maybe Donnie for short? Or, I think people names are cute, like Scott, Jason, Trevor, you know... um... I don't have kids, and my babies are my kids, LOL

Thanks for the great names, I like Rusty, never thought of that, and all of the others I am still open to suggestions. I have awhile until he gets to come and stay with me. I will post a pic and see what you think.

Cant wait to see pics of your new baby!!! I like the name Rusty.... but i also like the Greek God names idea like Zues or Hermes or something I dunno.... the rescue lady had a real cute but funny name for one of her dogs its was Diogi but it sounded like you were spelling dog like D-O-G!! But it is just a suggestion!! Good luck with your new baby!!! ;)

Sandy would work too I think, although I think that's more of a girl's name. If you can't tell, most of the time I pick names that accent the color of their coats. For example, my black cat is named Midnight.

Rusty IS cute, or Foxy, my neighbors dogs name is Thor and I think that is nice and authoratative sounding. LOL I like people names too like Chuck, Fred, etc...my dogs are Levi & Daisy Mae. You could always go with Duke, Max or even Spot, hehe, not original but cute still. I know you said your pup is a boy but if I ever get another girl I wanna name her Snarla! LOL I saw it somewhere on TV and thought it was just SO cute. Good luck and ultimately the doggy will letcha know what to call him.

I'm better with girl names seems I've never had a male pet, all females  (and that just came to my attention today, lol) but let's see...Shilow, Jake, Mischief, Tinker, Maze, Bandit. I'm not very good at this "game".....but I like the name Jake, if I ever get a male dog I'll probably name him that, and Maze...that just popped in my head and personally thought it was cute. :D

Well, my dogs name is Jake, cats are Fat Cat (aka riley, never call him by it) and Cozmo, he is named after Cozmo Kramer, from the show Seinfeld, cause he has the same wacky personality, they all took at least a week to name, I had to see their personalities first, and i'm glad I did. they all fit their names.

I like Rusty too, or Red.

I inherited a dog from my best friend when she died, his name was Max. We grew to adore that dog, he was very sick though and unfortunately we had to put him down. My son was devastated and asked if we could get another one. We bought another dog...same breed, same color and my son wanted to name him the same too, I thought that would be too hard for him but he insisted... so we compromised, our new dogs name is Remax... cute huh. We still call him Max, that's just his "legal" name.
