I know this is for mouning and remembrance. But I am mouning my Little Man. He has not passed on to the Rainbow Bridge, but he is missed none the less. We had to make a very hard decision yesterday. To let him go to someone who could help him. For those of you who may not know Little Man was one of the 9 pups born to my Basset Hound ***** back in November. He was never quite right. He was unable to wag his tail. He did not know when and if he had to poo or pee and would do it anywhere. Then his penis got stuck out of its sheath and we could not get itto go back in. After much thought, worry, heartbreak and crying, we decided to give him over to Basset Rescue of FL. We miss him so much. We have cried for days. His sister misses him too. It is just like we have had a death. He is being taken care of now the way he should be. Maybe they can fix what is wrong and he can go on to live a long happy life. We mourn the lose of our Little Man. Our hearts are breaking. Even now as I write this, there are tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. Goodbye Little Man! Know that you were loved very much in the short 5 months that we were graced with your presence. You will never be forgotten, my special puppy!

You did such an amazing and wonderful thing for him. The most loving decision he will get in his lifetime.

You gave the best home you could in the short time you had him, and I'm sure he will find a good home, once the rescue fixes his shortcomings. My heart is with you. It is heartbreaking to home animals we'd much rather keep for ourselves. I was in a similar situation myself once, so if you need to talk, I'm here.

I'm so sorry.

As others have said, I think you made the best choice for Little Man, as hard as it was.

We are here if you need us.

Blue! I did a double take when I saw this thread - at first I thought Little Man had passed away. I was afraid to open the thread and am so happy to see my first thought was wrong.

I am so sorry you & your family was faced with this decision and finally making it, but as Tiffers and others have said, you made a very unselfish decison and the best one for Little Man. Bless you all.

Remember we are all here for you when you need to talk. Big HUGS, Diane

I can empathise with you truly; we lost our 14 year old girl in February and not a day goes by that we don't remember that girl's wondefulness and love.

Yes, time does help...and I hope that with the passage of time, that it will help to ease your pain.

I'm sorry to hear about your broken heart, but I am glad that you made the decision to send him to someone who can help. You just have to remember that you did everything you could for him, and you weren't selfish when you realized you couldn't do it yourself.
