Since the three orphaned kittens require intensive care, I've not had much time for my dear Ratpunzel. I go in to check on her and talk to her in the mornings, and again at night. When I get home or am already home, I take her cage out and put it in the sunshine for her to enjoy the day.
I checked on her this morning and nearly had a stroke! She is GIGANTIC! :eek: I have had lots of rats, and only one of them was bigger than her...she has put on a load of weight! Desperately needs to get out of her cage more! I feel sooo bad for her! I mean, she still climbs and runs around her cage...but, oh mercy...picking her up is literally like picking up 1/2 a brick! I am going to weigh her tomorrow at work...but, I'm afraid we may have to call 911 if I have a heart attack.
I tried to take some pictures, but they really don't do her weight justice...

Holy cow! She looks like a totally different rat there Tiffers. What a drastic change, or is it she was young when you got her and she is now reaching maturity.

Wow.. she is pretty big for a girl. The females I've had and known were all pretty slender.
Still, she's petite compared to my big ol' boys.
Especially Dots, who has earned the nickname "Chub Chub":

She's so cute, chubby or not! Alice has packed on the pounds since I brought her home. She's a little younger than Lexi but much much wider in the middle.

Wow, I think I love her. She's so pretty! She's so cuddlable-snugglable-lookable. :) I miss having ratties.

I completely forgot to weigh her. I was too involved with the orphans that Punzel just ran around in her ball for most of the day...

After reading Alica's thread about Norman the fat rat I had to hurry and find the other fat rat thread.
LOL! I thought Templeton was the only fat rat in the world, I never thought about domestic pet rats getting fat.
they are all adorable. So rats aren't self regulators, eh?

How cute! I adore ratties!!! My boy Bandit sure was a big boy, lemme see if I can find a pic to show it off. Oh and as was a girl I received when she was already mature, her name was Chipper. Bo do I miss those ratties :( I wish ratties lived longer
Here are the lovers (they would just cuddle and sniff, never once did bandit try to mate. Then again they were both very old at that point)
