...I decided against the duck names, and am currently open for suggestions. The calico is female, and the other two are males.
Thursday morning, I woke up to feed the babies and found the little Calico having seizures. I'm going to say that they were only 'partial' seizures as she was able to vocalize the entire time as well as swallowing everything I put in her mouth. Either way, I spent a few hours doctoring the little calico while trying to manage the other two.
On Friday, I weighed them all. The calico and white faced kitty lost an ounce a piece, where as the Mustache Monster gained an ounce. He is just rotten...will attack and eat absolutely anything he finds. So, I loaded up my little 'diaper bag' with even more medications and nutrient supplements and felt pretty prepared for the weekend.
Mustache Monster and the Calico are doing well. Taking their medications and feeding well. However, the white face kitten is looking pretty crummy. He just seems...well, crummy. I am hoping that when I weigh them all tomorrow, everyone will have gained a significant amount of weight.
Anyway, on to the pictures!

I'd love to help with names but I'm struggling with names for 7 (2 litters) right now so I'm no help. I hope your littlest one starts improving soon. Just curious, how did you know the calico was having partial seizures, what did you see that clued you in? It would be good info for me since I'm pulling in litter after litter of 5-8 week olds.

Just curious, how did you know the calico was having partial seizures, what did you see that clued you in?
Well, first...do you know what a full blown seizure is? Completely disoriented, peeing, pooping, stiff arms and legs, etc?
A partial seizure is...well, hard to explain because it varies from animal to animal. Some animals will start fly biting: looking into the air and acting like their eating a bunch of flies that are flying around. Some animals will fall over and twitch, but be fully alert. Some will be stiff and crying out. These are all partial seizures.
In the calico's case, she was suffering from hypoglycemia, which I think the other little guy is suffering from even though he's on supplements and honey. She was completely alert. She would pull her head back as far as possible, crying the whole time. She was looking at me, and when she pushed her legs out straight like a full blown seizure, they were still able to be bent. All the medications and food and water I put into her mouth, she was able to eat and swallow all during one of her episodes.
Thank God it wasn't a full blown seizure, she probably would have died.

I've seen full seizures, I just wanted to file "partial seizure" information into my overstuffed brain. I normally get the slightly older kittens or babies with their moms because I don't have the ability/time to bottle feed, so this influx of itty bitty, barley weaned kittens (I'll have a total of 10 for a few days this week) is a little different for me.

Well, everyone else has gained some weight where as the little sickly one is still the same. He did manage to potty on his own, and he wasn't crying out in pain. So, that's great! He just looks so darn pitiful all the time.
I gave him a B12 Shot and also giving him some SubQ fluids to try and boost him a little more. Changed some of his supplements, so hopefully...with all fingers and paws crossed, he'll get over this hump and it won't turn into Fading Kitten Syndrome. :(

Have you tried using Colostrum for the kitties?
Doesn't sound like they got a remotely good start and may not have gotten the extremely important first bit of milk from momma with the colostrum in it. We've used it with great success with clients who were constantly immune suppressed and sick.

There's Colostrum in the kitten milk, but they aren't getting much of the kitten milk anymore. Is there another way to get Colostrum?
They had an awful start...when they came in, they were all covered in Maggots and Maggot Eggs. I think Chica knows something is wrong with this little sickly one because she doesn't pay as much attention to him when she mothers the others. I would like to think that the other's taste better because they lay in the food to eat. :(
However, this morning...before his medications and SubQ Fluids he went to the food bowl and took a few really, really small bites! :D I just about screamed but I didn't want to scare him away!

Names?
The little mustache boy looks like "Wolf" to me. Strange because I don't normally think Wolf is a good pet name. but that little number has Wolf written all over him, LOL!
Whiteface...I want to call him "Mountie" cause every time you call him whiteface I think of Whiteface Mountain.
When I look at the little calico girl I keep thinking Sugar, cause she's so darn sweet but she needs a stronger name than that. Maybe Frances, naming her after St Francis of Assisi may give her strength. Sugar or Shug could be her nickname!
Tiffers, the one with the 'stache looks like Charlie Chaplin to me. Maybe you could name this group after silent film stars?
Have you seen Linguine lately?

Thank you very, very much Special. I think sometimes I care too much...and then it becomes selfish. Rarely does this happen, but it does. :(
The litters always have set names. Like, the Noodle Brigade, The Oranges, The Chipmunks, etc. It's just tradition... :p
Evey, I've not seen Linguini...but, as far as I know...he's been doing fine. He recently got a sister kitty, though. :p

Okay, so you're looking for a theme....how come you didn't like the duck theme? names didn't fit the personalities?
Then how about a Hunter theme. Wolf can be Wolf, Whiteface can be ....Leo (Leopard) and Calico kitten can be...Vixen....(or Foxy)

Aw, those guys are so...well, they will be cute soon. Their kinda drowned rat looking now.
Names? Since the three of them were so near death what about a "raised from the dead" theme?
The little girl could be Pheonix, because the pheonix always raises from the ashes.
Boy 1 could be Lazarus who Jesus (or in this case Tiffers) raised from the dead.
Boy 2 could be Kenny...who dies all the time but never lets it slow him down.;)

Tiffers is a vet tech (?) and she is always taking in babies that have been dumped or found at her vet's office. She helps to nurse them back to health until they can be adopted. I am more than 200% sure her cat is spayed and she would never have kittens on purpose. She does great work rescuing these kittens but most of them are orphaned well before they are ready to be away from their moms and usually have many many many health issues. Tiffers is an angel helping them out and of course Chica, her helper dog, does a great job with the fosters as well.

...I really think they're happy kittens, Special. You know...like, they don't know their sick. When I let them out of their crate to get some exercise, they walk around a bit and they come back to my lap for warmth and shelter. ...I don't think they could ask for any more, they are fed...loved...taken care of...they have a very dedicated human and surrogate mother puppy to look up to. They do adore Chica. :)
I really, honestly, think they are satisfied and perfectly content...and because I feel that way, that's enough of for me if they don't pull through. Obviously, I will be devastated...I always am, and I always feel guilty...that's just in my nature. I put such an enormous amount of time and energy into these babies...it's only natural, in my opinion, to feel so guilty. Like, I could have and should have done more. I think everybody feels that when their pet's die. Maybe not...
Fostering orphans is not easy...and it is not something everyone can do. I always say I won't do it anymore when I lose a baby...but, I always do. The heartbreak is worth it to me, because I know I tried...and that's more than they would have had otherwise.
When I do lose a baby, I think of Windy and Herculeesa, and The Noodle Brigade...I think of my success stories...and it keeps me inspired. Every kitten that comes to me has a 50/50 chance of living...most of them are deathly ill when I get them. So, I try not to be too hard on myself.
I mean, these three were covered from head to toe in maggots...so, I think I've done a pretty good job for them. There's no telling what is wrong with these kitties...especially since 'death bugs'(maggots) were all over them for who knows how long. But...had they not come in, they would have already died. Now they know the love of a human and...Chica.
...I always seem to get the most attached to the really sick one's...and that could be because I spend the most time with them. But, it's even worse...because Chica gets visibly depressed when she loses a baby. But, I am honestly glad that she does...that way, I know she loves the babies...not just that she likes to clean the cat food off their faces and bodies. :p

Oh dear, I'm so sorry.
I appreciate your thoughtfulness Tiffany. While the loss of a pet who was cherished, nurtured and loved always hurts, it's not the same thing as reading about abuse cases, not for me anyway.
When someone loses a beloved pet, even a tiny foster kitten, I want to know so I can offer my sympathy and let you know I share your grief.
