I think my savannah monitor is dying and I don't know what else to do for him/her. First he got mouth rot so I called the local pet shop and she told me a few things to try. I cleared up his mouth rot but he still wouldn't eat so I called the vet. He told me I should hand feed him baby food and give him warm water soaks so he didn't dehydrate. I do this and he just keeps getting worse, I recently noticed he has a pink bulby looking thin on the roof of his mouth. I also notice a kind of thick gummy stuff inside when I open his mouth to feed him. Please help if you know anything else I could try he just keeps getting flatter and flatter all the time and I think he is dying.

Have you called a specialist, or a vet who works specifically with reptiles, or could your vet do that for you?
Sorry, I know very little about reptiles. I hope you find a solution soon.

by gummy stuff do you mean that white stuff? If so, you can remove gently as much as you can to help out. Second, raise the temps a bit. Please come back to say how things went.

the gummy stuff is clear and very thick almost like a mucous. he still won't eat and has a hard time to swallow the slurry i give him. his mouth is black at the back and has a loose skin like substance that looks like i could pull it off with tweezers. i,m really concerned about the pink bulby thing on the one side of his roof of his mouth it looks like when we get an infected tooth. i had his day light on constantly but i thought that might dehydrate him even more so i put on his night light instead. he responds to his warm water batyhs and moves around in them. but he is very lethargic most of the other time.
