We have a 6-7 year old seimens cat. She has been through hell the last couple of month. She has been doing this for the last 3-4 year of her life now. The problem is this: She will start puking, from we have seen off and on, either for no reason, or right after she eats. The vet has cleared her of any bad diseases, by doing test and x-rays. The only thing he see in the x-rays was she was a little backed up. He put her on a prescription food, which she started to eat for 4 out of the 8 weeks she wanted to. Well by the 4th week she would refuse to eat it, because it only seemed to make it worse. Well then he tried a v/d prescription food and didn't do much good. Well from there he put her on science diet sesitive stomach, with the combination of pertizone shots once a month.

Well it has been 3 month since she has been on the shot, and they tell us it can cause diabetes in cats, that we need to switch to a liquid. We do that and 1 day into the liquid we discover she is loosing her air around her ears, and back. So the vet did a skin test and ruled out mites, and said it was a reaction to the pertazone. Pretty much told us there is nothing else we can do for her. He says it is IBS, but I would like someone with a little background to please tell me if this sounds like it. She just started puking again, the last time she did a #2 was like wednesday of this week, currently it is saturday.

Can someone with some exspirence please shine some light on this subject. What are the simptoms of IBMS?

It may be the same thing that was happening to my Cozmo, he was always puking and getting really sick, I had all kinds of tests done and no answer. Well I started looking on the internet for answer and came across an interesting article about clay and clumping litter, can't remember where, but they real really bad things and the health effects on cats, and alot of doctors confuse it with IBS. But I am now using all natural litter, like corn or wheat, I don't really like the recycled paper ones. And now it's been about three or four months since Cozmo has been sick. Thank God, I thought he would never be a healthy cat. If you have any questions please let me know, i'm typing this in a hurry. Hope this is of some help to you and your baby. Good luck!!!!!
