I want to get Barkley on a pellet diet but don't know what type of pellets should I get?

All of my birds prefer Zupreem the best. I've also tried Kaytee, but none liked it all that much. There's many other kinds, but once I found one that they all liked, I didn't see the point in trying out any others.

My birds both eat KAYTEE Exact. Sophie tried the Zupreem and didn't like it. They both eat all their pellets. But you just need to try around and there may be one that they like. I got a free sample of Roudybush? pellets. I got Pumpkin converted to pellets with those. However Sophie wouldn't eat them. Pumpkin swiched easily over to exact so I'm guessing that there wasn't much ifference.

I have tried Zupreem on Tweety, and she took one bite and then jumped into the food and bathed in it.

The Avian Vet I took Angel to seemed to feel that Harrisons was the better brand of pellets on the market...........but then he sold me a bag. So, left wondering if he prefers them because he sells them. ??????????/

Angel started eating it (the Harrisons) right away and seems to be doing OK on it. I am just not sure how much she should be eating each day - but she lets me know when she is hungry. Angel will take my finger in her beak and shakel it back and forth several times. When she does this I usually get her something good to eat.

I would be very happy to get all the birds switched over to pellets. veggie bread and millet etc. As we are having a hard time getting rid of those moths that hatch from the seed. Every time we think we are rid of them - there is another! They are driving my husband nuts. (which in turn drives me nuts)

I can't get my tiel or budgies to eat anything fresh (fruits or veggies). I have tried everything. I also feed them mainly nutriberries and was told it is just fine for them.

For Marcel, he now eats veggies, birdie bread, and nutriberries. Also he likes chicken bones with a little of the meat on them. Just recently he flipped out on PRETTY BIRD JUNGLE MUNCHIES for amazons...it seems to be a good mix of healthy seeds, puffed cereal, pellets, almonds in the shell (which he loves to crack), dried apricots and bananas. He snacks on this during the afternoon. The jungle munchies cost approx. $10.99 for 3 lbs, but is packed with good stuff.

Friends of mine swear by Kaytee Exact pellets, but I can't get my tiel and budgies to even look at any pellets.

If you can get "free samples" of the different brands of pellets available where you are, you can try each one and see which one Barkley prefers. Althought some pellets may be slightly better than another brand, the important thing is that you get Barkley to eat some pellets. Getting him off the "total seed" diet (no matter which brand of pellets he prefers) is better than no pellets at all.

Also, if you will be offering him fresh veggies, fresh fruits, sprouts, birdie breads, etc ... then he really wouldn't be eating too much pellets. Since I managed to get Rio to eat fresh & cooked foods, I have noticed that she doesn't eat as much pellets as she used to. Anyway, I think at this point, getting Barkley to eat whichever brand he prefers will make it easier to convert him. Then if you want to switch to another brand in the future, it will be easier because by then he will recognize the "pellets" as "food".
