I actually remembered to take the camera to the barn today.

You have made me sick with jealousy though...
I'm dying to get back on my horsey.
I just recently started riding again after 12 years of not riding. I am hoping to show this horse this spring.

He really is a lovely looking guy, how old? How big? What's he got in him? Where'd you get him from?

He is very handsome Evey! How does it feel to be back in the saddle after 12 years? Are you nervous at all?

Nervous? Nah! It was like putting on a comfy pair of old shoes.
John is a 16.2h American Thoroughbred, roughly 17 years old. He was once upon a time a highly sought after equitation horse shown out of one of the biggest show barns on the east coast. All of that showing kind of fried his mind. He was eventually donated to the Taylor University Equestrian Team. My best friend is the coach of that team, and all of their horses live at her barn. When I moved up here at the end of the summer I sort of made an announcement that I was taking him and since he does not do very many lessons my friend let me get away with it. He is referred to as "your horse" as in "Your horse was bad in a lesson today" or "Your horse ripped his sheet".
He was the perfect choice for me to start back on. He knows it all, has done it all, and with the right ride will do it again. I spoil him rotten.

The third picture is so cute. You have a lovely horse. After so many years, I still at times miss mine. Nothing is so satisfying as a long country ride atop a feisty, good natured horse.

I went horseback riding before, only once in my life, but i loved it, and would do it again anytime!!
