I recently started scrapbooking, when i got a new digital camera and photo printer for Christmas.

It's something I enjoy very much, and I try to get at least a couple pages done every week. I even got my mom hooked on scrapbooking!

I'm not sure if there are a lot of members here that scrapbook, but for those who do, I thought i'd start a thread where we can all share tips and ideas, and where we can show off our scrapbooks!

I'd like to share a a few pages that i have done so far, for those who are interested, and any feedback is welcome!

P.S. Sorry if you cannot see all the details very well on the pictures, but my scanner is not big enough to fit a 12" by 12" page, so i had to take pictures with my digital camera.

First off is just a picture of my album itself, this is my "Pets album" or "Roxy and Freklz album".

This page is titled "Baby Freklz"
He was about 5-8 months on these pictures.

About 5-6 months old.

No More Pictures!
Freklz didn't like my camera, and when I cornered him in the bathroom to get a picture of him, he tried to hide, the only place to hide was a tiny step-stool, so he tried to squish himself under it, so i wouldn't see him!
Again about 5-6 months old.

That's all I have so far from my Pets Album.

I am also working on another Album, about my Best Friend and I, She recently moved away, and it's a way for me to keep memories, to look at whenever I want. If anyone wants to see those pages, I'll post them another day, Its getting very late (or early I should say!!) and I was scrapbboking until 2:30 am, I dont feel like taking pics of my other album right now and uploading them.

I'm curious, does anyone else enjoy scrapbooking as much as i do??
I'd love to trade tricks and pictures of our pages!

I've been scrapbooking for about 3 years, now. I have so much "stuff" it takes up one corner of a room...baskets, bags, and boxes of paper, stickers, scissors, punches, etc. Several of my friends and I were getting together once a month for a crop until we lost the building. We are looking for another place to use. We would all get there about 7:00 and stay as long as we wanted. It wasn't unusual for some of us to be there until 1 o'clock in the morning. We'd bring snacks and share our tools and other stuff. One of my favorite tools is the coluzzle. I use them a lot. Also, I couldn't live without my basic corner rounder.

I also scrapbook. Its a very relaxing activity. I've done one for the pets, but it needs updating as Bram and Rabbit Stu aren't in it yet.
I've also done a family one, and one for the travels of my best friend and I!

I just started scrapbooking a couple months ago, and i have tons of stuff, i don't know where to put it all!!

Me and my were thinking of starting a "scrapbooking club" kinda like a book club, but for scrapbooking, to get together with some friends, be we don't have space to do that right now.

I don't know what the coluzzle is.

I agree, it's very relaxing, and I find time just flies when i'm scrapbooking, i start, and the next thing i know, i look at the clock, and 3 hours have gone by!

I would love to see some of your pages, if you guys are willing to share Katie and Mzdolittle.

I enjoy looking at people's scrapbooks, but I've never done any myself. I can barely get myself organized enough to get photos into an ordinary album.

I did a few more pages in my scrapbook, so I thought I'd share for those who are interested.

"Roxy"

The page i did tonight was about Coder.

"Coder"

This is just a close up so you can read the sticker.

http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/pp60/mariejoly1986/GEDC0018.jpg

The next page i want to do will be about Dalia.

You can't tell but on alot of the pages some of the stuff is kind of 3-d, pops up from the page, like the paw pints on the "Best Friends Fur-Ever" and the cheese one the Coder page.

I haven't been able to do as much as I'd like to lately, because my ink cartridge in my photo printer is out of ink, and they aren't cheap!

I really need to give scrapbooking a try. I'm starting to forget the names of some of my fosters and I want something to remember them by. I hate to get into another pricey hobby though, my hubby might not be too happy.

Believe it or not, i get most of my scrapbooking stuff from the dollar store! The most expensive thing was the scapbook itelf, at 12$.

You should go for it! It's so much fun! And not nearly as expensive as a first thought. I go into the dollar store with 15$ and come out with enough stuff to do about 6-7 pages! And once you start buying stuff and you have a bit accumulated, it's even cheaper! I buy bags of those stars, like on Dalia's page for 1$ and i have a bout 150 stars in it. Same with the flowers. The things that are most expensive would be the scrapbook itself, the papers (but i get 6 pages for 1.50$ at the dollar store) and the letters, even though they come from the dollar store, i always buy 3-4 packs of every type of letter, to make sure i have enough to write what i want to write, like if i want to write sentences. My mom scrapbooks with me, so we always double up on letters.

It's so relaxing, and makes time just fly by! Sometimes i sit down to do a couple pages, and look up and 4 hours went by!

if ever you do start scrapbooking, don't forget to share your pages! I love seeing other people's scrapbooks, it gives me ideas for my own!

Your scrapbook pages are gorgeous! I really need to start one for my Ginger... I just adopted her this week!
Are there any online sites that sell those scrapbook items or instructions on how to make one?
Thanks again!

Thank you very much!

I'm sure there are websites that sell supplies, but as I mentioned in previous posts, i like to get my supplies from the Dollar store. when i first started, i bought stuff from wal-mart and zellers, and only got tiny packages of stickers and letters (priced around 4$ each), but the next day i went into the 2 dollar stores we have and they had a whole wall of stuff (far more than wal-mart and zellers) for a whole lot cheaper (hehe 1$ each)!

And when it comes to instructions, i say just let your imagination and creativity go nuts! Sometimes my mom starts to make a page and i think to myself " eesh, what's that gonna turn out like?" and by the end, i'm jealous of her pages because they turn out so nice.

The best advice i can give you would be to stick to one theme per page, take into consideration you pictures, colours and embellishments, so they somewhat "match" or complement each other without over-crowding your page, your pics are the things that need to stand out, and they need to be the focus of your page.

Adding a background or border around your picture is a great way to make them stand out.

What i like to do is to look at scrapbooks online or other people's pages to give me some inspiration and ideas for my own.

If you want to get started, I can make a list for you of 'must have items' to start with. :)

I also have another scrapbook i'm working on, but it's not about pets so I hesitated on posting it here. It's about my best friend who recently moved away.

I have a friend who does that..has a club of sorts I mean. sometimes they meet at each other's houses, but often they use their church.

She has one of those plastic stacking drawer systems that she keeps all her supplies in.

those are nice pages, Marie. I especially enjoyed seeing Freklz as a youngster.

I have something similar to what you mentioned, like this, only bigger, and it's FILLED with scrapping stuff. http://www.anabostudios.com/images/site/merritsroom6.jpg It's great to keep thing organized, in the top drawer we have our cutters, scissors, stencils, glue ect.. And each drawer is used only for specific things, 1 for ribbons, 1 for papers and cardstock, 1 for embellishments, and for for odd things, like my photo printer.

Must be fun lugging that around though! LOL

Well that's the problem, if i went anywhere else to scrapbook, i would need to bring the whole thing, because i never know what im going to use until i actually do it. I change my mind alot, so i would need all my supplies at hand. LOL

What a talented hobby to have and what nice gifts they make for people too.
I don't scrapbook (no talent) but, excellent job everyone. Specially, when there are critters involved.
