Hello, I have a 10 to 14 y/o male cat. I have had him for about 7 years and got him from the humane society. Recently he has started peeing right infrount of me and my wife. just squats down and starts to pee. What am I going to do with him this has been going on for quite sometime. How do I stop the madness?? Please help me. Thanks for your time

First, get him to the vet. You need to rule out medical reasons. If a cat has a urinary tract or bladder infection, it hurts when they pee. They associate that pain with the litter box and will start going outside of it. Additionally, male cats can be prone to crystals and blockages which can be deadly very quickly.
If your vet rules out medical problems, then you'll need to start working on behavior issues. But first things first!

I agree with macassie. Please get your cat to the vet a.s.a.p. Your cat thanks you and we thank you.

I agree with what macassie said. Just to add on, if he is doing it right in front of your face, this is his way of communicating to you that something is wrong.

i had a cat that was doing that, he was an 11 year old male. he started 21/2 years ago when i had moved, i took him to the vet no uti's or diabetes. I had to give him to the humane socity today. I tried for more then 2 years to have him stop. meds/special sprays, caged and I was told once they start they dont always stop. one of the most sadest day of my life, please make sure you take all the roads the vet gives you before you have to stop.

That was kind of a quick decision don't you think. You've had this poor cat all his life and now your dumped him somewhere strange and frightening and he will probably be put down... I hope for your consience sake you ruled out all medical problems, tried new litter and behavioral training first.
