I just clicked opn the weather and found we are right in the middle of a Tornado watch. Went to bring the dog in and the tornado sirens started. Critters are acting wierd, the rain is getting worse and the wind picking up. Gary and the kids are at my ex SIL's raggedy little trailer with no phone. Why did I quit taking my meds for panic attacks? Reckon it's time to shut the pooter down before the power goes out?

Well it wasn't a tornado, no freight trains in the sky, but it got nasty for a few minutes. Our power never even flickered here, lots of fire truck and ambulances heading out to I don't know where. All of mine are OK, the dog retrieved the bone he gave to the cat:confused:, and everything is "normal" here again.
The preachers wife called, they cancelled midweek service 'cause the street the church is on is flooded.
Jmar, I can't imagine a hurricane! Or an earthquake. Back in Texas the tornados didn't scare me so bad, but here in the mountains they sneak up with no warning.

We have had a nice peaceful day.....but you know the saying........
If you like all different kinds of weather just live in Missouri. It will be 80 one day and snow storm the next. I remember in 1997 my grandmother was still with us and Terry had built her a glider for her birthday (April 13th) and we got 22 inches of snow that day LOL

I'm so glad you're okay Nana. I hate tornadoes. We don't get many here at all, but when we do it scares me to death.
I LOVE snow too, but you can have all the blizzards, JMAR. I guess I wouldn't care if it dropped 10 feet of snow as long as it stayed off the roads and roofs!

Yup, all OK. The only mishap is that the county schools were closed due to flooding but the city schools were open. Liz thought ALL the schools were closed, and by the time she learned otherwise both cars at her sisters had left for town already, so her three kids got an extra day of vacation.
There's still water standing in the yards and the ditchs are running over, while I saw a lot of small limbs blown off trees this morning it doesn't look like any real damage was done.
A sadder note, a lot of outdoor pets seem to have panicked and bolted last night, I saw a few new dogs wandering around loose this morning, and a couple cats that must have run out in front of cars trying to get away from the storm.:(
The sun's out now, but we're still under flash flood warnings, and severe wind advisory's.
All summer they were crying about lack of rain (while still getting more than we used to get in a good year in Texas), and setting aside days to pray for rain. I think that seeing how much more rain they got than they asked for they'd have done better praying for the good sense to manage the water they already have more wisely! Just think how much common sense would have been bestowed to the area if they had asked for a little?

I hate to see lost animals. It breaks my heart... I really hate to see animals dead on the roads; so sad.
JMAR - it's snowing here, so you can be sure that it is going to be in your neighborhood in a day or two!! Enjoy!

Bright and sunny here in N. Georgia, hope your friends are OK. When the weather gets wild it is probably the most powerful force there is. It will certainly make people realize how small and helpless they really are.
Oh! What I thought in the wet and dark were large cats struck by cars, we passed one dry yesterday and it was apparantly a groundhog washed out of it's burrow! That had to have been some serious flooding.
