My little angel Gizmo, a yearling nanday, bless his little heart, he's not biting, but he is beaking just enough to make me jump from a good pinch. Any ideas how I can either make the pinching a bit less, or get him to lighten it basically, or some helps to toughen my skin and brain enough not to jump and take his little beaking that isn't quite really a bite?

You might try keeping a small toy/treat near by to distract him. Tell him ouch/easy, and redirect. Try also turning your hand/arm to a position that is harder for him to pinch, at the same time telling him easy. A clicker might work well here. For gentle nibbles click and treat. For rough beaking, gently scold and withhold click/treat.

Chaos is a very rough beaker. I've learned to deal with it, but have never broken him of it. He loves to clamp down on me, and it's not in meanness, he just doesn't realize the strenght of his beak.

Maybe I should try that clicker conditioning!

I have the same issue with Angel. It doesn't seem like she is intentionally trying to hurt me, but oooouch it hurts. Please let me know if either of you ever figure out how to deal with this.
