I have a 3 year old spayed female siberian husky, and she is acting a bit weird. She walks around the house with one piece of kibble in her mouth and drops it in front of her after he lays or sits. I have also seen her drop it on a blaket or pillow, even dirty laundry and push towards it with her nose, as if she were burying it almost. The place I most commonly find pieces are on my bed, on my side, sometimes under my pillow. She has hardly left my side in 2 weeks, except to go outside, eat, or drink. Nothing has changed in home life. I'm 10 weeks pregnant, but it hasnt affected our home routine. Shes been doing this for about 2 weeks, that's the only thing i can think of that may have affected her. We also have a 6 year old spayed female husky, she is acting normal though.

Does anyone know why she might be burying her food or walking around with 1 piece all day?

I bet that she can feel the baby's presence. Dogs are VERY intuitive, and the really UNDERSTAND things. I would venture to guess that she is doing what her instinct is telling her.. It is getting close to winter, and there is a baby on the way, so she is stashing food that you will have enough to eat for over the winter..

I'm not kidding! I can BET that is what she is doing! She is helping you prepare.

I'm thinking the same too about her feeling your babies present, as dog has good smell on humans changes in their hormones. I wonder i she could build a nest for you!

That's too adorable. What a sweet dog I have! I thought she was just trying to drive me crazy with all the crunchies in the bed, punishing me for something I did/didn't do. Thanks for the answers. :)
