My Yellow Lab Riley has been having an eye goo problem (just on the inside corner) for about a week now. We have had a distinct weather change and that is when this appeared. It is only in one eye (his right) and he does not scratch at it nor does the eye look swollen, inflamed, etc. My husband actually gets the same kind of thing when his allergies act up which is why I am suspecting allergy as opposed to infection.

It could be allergies, but it could also be an ulcer...you may want to try flushing the eye with eye flush, perhaps something is stuck in the eye itself?

It could be herpes too... your cat could be stressed and therefore have a flareup.

Llamalady, this is in the doggy forum, and the first three words are 'My yellow lab'... :p

Thanks Tiffany - Do you mean I should use a specific "eye flush" product or flush the eye with H20?

I think that she meant a veterinary eye flush.. I know that with cats, they can put them under and flush they eye with a syringe and saline (or an animal version of saline)

Tiffers posted pictures of her cat getting it done in my post about eye boogers..

Yeah, use something for dogs... :p

...it it continues on, or gets worse...eye troubles ALWAYS warrant a visit with the vet. They can get awful quick.
