Here are some pics that were taken of T'sai on her spa day. My mom and friend bathed her and they were quite unsure of her because she can be a real witch, but I told them not to worry...she falls asleep when she gets a bath. They finally got the courage to do it after many weeks and the bath went very well and just like I said, she fell asleep!!! And just in case you were wondering..yes she does snore!!! Enjoy!!

Ha ha ha! When you've mentioned "the witch mare" before, I didn't realise you were talking about T'sai!! Silly me!

I was going to ask you to post some piccies of her, but thought I'd check to see if you'd already put some up. And, what d'ya know, you have! She's lovely. :)

Thanks for the nice comment Catslave!

Thanks Heather! She always has been a looker. Even more so when she was in her prime. She is one of those horses that just looks like you need to go up and touch her. Then when you get close, she pulls back as if to say...."Oh no! Look but DO NOT touch! I so don't need cooties from you!" She also is well a witch! She has attidue to spare and none of it good. Oddly, she loves kids and can't get enough of the niece and nephew. That I still scratch my head over. But under saddle she was a true work horse could never get enough time under saddle and I had to be very carefull or she'd work herself into the ground. She's in retirement and quite the Queen.

Lol, that's funny. Bless her. Aubrey's the opposite, he's so cuddly and gentle with me, but anyone else he wants to frisk for carrots and nip at constantly. And he is so lazy... He's fine doing any groundwork, but if I'm on his back and he can't see me with him anymore, he uses any excuse to lose his temper, buck me off and then stand there looking down at me, like "Oh, there you are? Are we done now?"

There's always something "dangerous" happening where I keep him, not an ideal horsey environment at all. ie, cat leaping down from bales, tractors and machinery parked in dangerous places, dogs scuttling around and barking behind piles of junk, wagons revving, etc etc. It's hopeless trying to train anything. I've given up.

Anyway, T'sai is beautiful. How big is she? Have you had her since she was a youngster? Where'd you get her from? Sorry for the twenty questions! :p

I like 20 questions!!
She will be 25 this June and she is about 14.2 hands. She would be a cob size in your country. She is very broad though. She is a liver chestnut Missouri Fox Trotter. (That's a gaited american horse! lol) Although she fox trots on pavement, she mostly paces. She was born pacing.
I've known T'sai all of her life. I missed her being born, but saw her the next day. Her mother was my riding instructors mare Dee. Dee was bonkers-insane. Certifiably nuts. A complete trip to ride.
I started to ride T'sai when she was almost five. I was just riding her to put time on her so a friend could ride her. She was always just to hot for my friend, so we just kinda stayed together. She is my other half. My mom says we're like two peas on a pod.
She's never been a cuddler, but she loves to give hugs. She is very picky about people that she likes. She also hates light colored horses. Which is ironic since her current staple mate is a white arab! She prefers her men tall dark and handsome! Aubrey is right up her alley.
Speaking of Aubrey, how long have you had him? What is he? I saw a video once and thought he had some draft in him.

Aw, she's only a little 'un! Bless her. 14.2 is an ideal riding size IMO. Not so far to fall! :p

Aubrey's 16.3

I met him when he was six months old and fell head over heels in love with him. He'd just been rescued from going to the knacker yard. But I've only had him since 2003. He was six years old then. Coming up 12 now, obviously. He is a hackney X gypsy cob... I believe they're known as "gypsy vanners" these days. Which is funny, really.

His mother died in the field with him when he was a foal. Poor little guy. :(

Awww...Aubrey has had quite the start! Poor guy! This explains much.
He's my kinda guy! Tall! I like mine tall!
He's also the perfect age. 12 is when they are just getting into their prime. Most drassage horses are 12 when they get their careers started!
I bet he was a cute little dude as a baby! It's great that you got him from the knackers. He sure is lucky to have you!

T'sai is a pretty girl. How awesome that you've been there almost her entire life. Not many horses get that kind of experience.

My boss raises Tennessee Walkers. I am hoping to get to do some riding this summer, I've never been on a gaited horse. When I worked at a stable in high school, my boss there had some MFTs. One I remember was definitely certifiably insane. She was in love with donkeys. It was weird.

It was my boss who rescued Aubs, not me... I was only thirteen at the time.

She owns his father, and when she heard his baby was going to be slaughtered she went and saved him. She offered him to me when I was eighteen and looking for a horse in need of a home, and I now work for her helping take care of her hackneys.

Aubs is practically the spitting image of his dad. Just fatter and heavier, and he's got his mum's feathery legs. Oh and his legs get tiger stripes in summer... Ooh, I love him to death. :D

If you have more piccies of T'sai, I'd love to see them. :)

edit... Btw, yes, he was SOOO cute when he was a baby. :) He was bright orange chestnut. Got darker and darker as he got older. Did T'sai change colour as she grew up?

Thanks That Girl! I've only a Walker once. That was amazing. I love riding gaited horses. It's hard to ride a "normal" horse now! I hope that you get some serious saddle time in this summer. Once you've ridden a gaited horse, well, you don't want to ride another type of horse!

He's got zebra stipes!??! WOW! That is called the primitve gene I think. Only certain colors get them. Dun is one of them. Yes -T'sai did change color as she grew. She was actually a much lighter chestnut when she was a baby. She lost her foal coat and got darker. She tried to be a bay, but never made it! She gets these huge metalic gold dapples the first two or three weeks after her winter coat sheds out. She looks almost like the Akle-Tecs do with their metalic shine.

I will have to search for more pics. I have tons on film, but I don't have a scanner. So I get some more and post them!

Aw! That's so cute, bless her cotton socks. :D Yes, you definitely have to take more piccies. She sounds lovely. Get her at different times of the year to compare.

We have a palomino at work who goes kind of wispy whitey around the face, almost roan-ish in winter, she's absolutely stunning! Then in summer she goes so dark that from a distance she looks chestnut. Gorgeous blondey mane. She's beautiful. I love seeing them changing colours as the seasons change.

Apparently, stripey legs is a sign that the horse is sure footed and brave... But that's a load of tosh, because I've seen Aubrey's reaction to an 'unidentified' pile of hay in the paddock. He's perfectly okay with physically forcing a poor old lady to go check it out first. Wussy! Ha. (Oh, then dancing around the perimeter holding up his skirt and crying like a little girl! :p Then he blamed everybody else for not telling him there was food in the vicinity once he figured out what it was.)

I had a palamino QH-Galahad-he and I didn't get along so I found him a great home. He was a very creamy yellow. He also had amber eyes. They were amazing. Palamino's are a fav but I love buckskins but a true black horse is my fav. I had Guiness-he was a Morgan/Conamara (sp?). Black as the Ace of Spades and had chome in all the right places. He passed at the adavanced age of 40.

Ok I have to say-I hurt myself laughing about Aubrey's "skirt"! HAHAHA! Why is it the guys are so pansy about the weirdest things? The more you tell me about him the more I love him. He's my kinds mental!!!!HAHAHAHAHA;)

Thanks Katie-you would love her -those that find her as having "personality" love her. Those that find her mean and/or a witch or worse really don't like her. She goes either way never in between. She has always had character to spare.
The friend whose place she's at loves her attitude. She finds her "matter of fact" and "that she embraces her inner witch to be commended". What's really interesting is that my friend, Francoise is from France. She speaks
Frech to T'sai and T'sai has learned the language. So she is bilingual (sp). Actually Trilingual-T'sai knows basic Spanish from the ranch hands that she had been around. But she learned French late in life....

Okay, because you wanted them Miss Heather I found a couple more photos:

Here is a head shot-this was taken on our last ride together. Note the mule-like head-very classic for her breed.:

http://i314.photobucket.com/albums/ll438/Tsaipony/Tsai/Tsai1.jpg

This one I like even though it's not really the best photo. It shows her general attidude very well-the snot. Basically, that is my mom asking her to do something that she feels is really unnesessary for her to do. Im thinking something along the lines of like not running over my mom:

http://i314.photobucket.com/albums/ll438/Tsaipony/Tsai/TsaiBarbara.jpg

I think I've posted this one elsewhere, but I love it. This was our last ride together. She is very happy here and it makes me want to ride her again but alas, she is retired and had done her work...:

http://i314.photobucket.com/albums/ll438/Tsaipony/Tsai/Tsai2.jpg

Well, I'll get more. I will send my film to Mom and have her scan the photos. When I get them Ill post a few more!
Enjoy!
