Hello everyone:

I want to tell you a little story. I posted here some months ago about a cute orange kitten that I found. he is the sweetest most loving cat in the world. It turned out to be the neighbor's cat. When I found out the kitty was theirs I brought it home to their little girl and they didn't even say thank you. They kept him that weekend and then he spent the whole week here in our home. And that is what kept happening, the kitten spent the week here and on the weekends the little girl came to pick him up.

One day I saw the kitten has been infected with mange, and I got worried because I don't want my kitties to get it and I felt sorry for the little guy, so I took the kitty to the owners and told them he had mange and he needed medical treatment, of course they didn't care. So, I had to "kidnap " the kitten, take him to the vet and got him treatment for mange. he got better and looked gorgeous.

The kitten also looked nervous and kept sucking everything, our clothes, the cat beds, everything. But after we started taking care of him and giving him love, it stopped. He started relaxing and playing.

That is when I decided i had to find a home for this kitty, I fought this thought a lot, because he did have "owners", but he was on the streets and I was the only one taking care of him. So I did it, I dound a wonderful home for him !!! I feel great about it. And the "owners" haven't even asked for the kitten, they think he dissapeared and they don't even care.

The kitten is so happy in his new home and his new Mommy and Daddy adore him! he is behaving wonderfully and he is indoors now, safe and happy.

Here is the cute boy

You did good Tamar, but my experience with people like that is that they get animal after animal, and don't care properly for any of them. You may be rescuing their kittens and puppies for a good long while.

Thank you all. I'm so happy I could hel the kitty.

Those people are so weird, they have three dogs and they seem to ba taking good care of them, it is the kitty they didn't care for. I don't understand why:(

Some people have the old fashioned (and wrong) idea that cats can take care of themselves. Even barn cats that may be able to survive catching mice, need a regular feeding time to keep them at ultimate health. So many folk have the wrong attitude about a cat's ability to survive on it's own.

He's beautiful. I would have done the same thing...its not really "stealing" if your doing good, right?;)

Morally it isn't stealing, but get caught in this type of rescue effort by someone who cares enough to call the cops (although not enough to care for the pet properly:confused:) and it will definately be called stealing and get a person a fine or jail time.

Amen! Maybe even more important than the feeding, they need at least basic vaccinations, and occasional deworming. And of course spay or nueter. A grown cat may survive on it's own to some degree, a kitten is highly unlikely to without it's mother

I think of it as making the kitten disappear, rather than stealing! And you even said that the neighbors don't seem to miss it, or care. So, GOOD FOR KITTY and good going, for you!! You should be so proud of yourself!

Thank you all. I didn't consider it staleing because he was being so neglected that in my eyes, he didn't belong to them anymore. he spent everyday here with me.

The important thing is he is happy and safe now:)
