Some of you may remember this little kitty...

She had layers of tissue attached to her third eyelid, preventing her from having cat-like vision.

She was adopted, and came in for her spay. We 'experimented' and removed much of the tissue. We also found that her iris' are yellow.(These pictures are from surgery, they are not bloody, but do depict tissue covering the eye being cut.)

The attachment was severe, but we managed to get most of it off. Leaving her eyes pale and blue, much like under developed eyes would be.

Her parents say that she can see MUCH better and has been WAY more playful, and that she is adjusting perfectly to her new eyes. :] Though, they do think that she may be already regrowing the tissue...her recheck is on Saturday, so I'll be sure to get pictures of her then, too.

Thanks for the update on Magic. If they tissue continues it's regrowth pattern, perhaps removal of the eye will be considered?

She will most likely never need her eyes removed. The tissue causes no pain or discomfort, just keeps her from seeing well. She can still see...even with the tissue in place, like kitties with three legs, she adjusts to having less than the best vision.

I thought about her the other weekend, we have one in foster that just had the same type of surgery on one of his eyes. This kitty is also black, his foster mom named him Boo. I'm so happy she's doing so good!

...bad news. :(

The tissue has grown back, in the past three days, 10x's worse than it was. It's awful...she's headed to a Veterinary College for an exam in a few days I think. We wrote a referral and gave it to them today. I will be sure to keep you all posted...

Of course, Magic is still doing great. Playing, running, eating, everything like a normal kitty...but, her eyes are definitely more severe than when we started.
