 Hi guys.
I have a 3 year old dog, named Chimo.
I'm not sure how to describe what's happening.. but here goes.
-He's shivering
-When he shivers he doesn't want to be touched, or moved
-When he shivers he doesn't respond to being called
-he goes out for a pee and sometiems nothing comes out
- when he pee's he usualy licks his genitalia afterwords

it's all happend about 3 times within the past 2 weeks. hes fine one moment the next hes not.

I'm not sure what to do.. money is a big issue for seeing the vet... although i care for my dog a lot... I'm trying to hold off on blowing a hole in my wallet.
If he keeps it up I know i will have to see a vet.

I just want to know if anyone has any sort of idea what's wrong with him. I looked up Urinary tract infection symptoms and he only have 1 or 2.

You dog likely has crystals or kidney stones.. The shivering is probably from pain.

The reason the pain comes and goes is because those types of things come and go, but they REALLY need to be looked at, because they can cause a blockage and really mess things up inside BADLY.

I really STRONGLY feel that the longer you wait, the bigger hole you will have in your wallet. Sometimes going to a vet is not going to be your choice, undiagnosed crystals or stones can cause lots of more serious issues.

Just recently in a discussion we had here, i came up with a few comments for people who have issues paying vet bills.
The first, thing is to put 10$ out of every paycheck into a special vet account. DONT LET IT SLIDE EVEN FOR A WEEK. I feel that just about anyone can squeez a 10 more dollars out of a check a week. It will help you in the long run.

The more immediate thing is to apply for a credit card. This is what i did. I went on whatever website i could to apply for a credit card that i would ONLY use for vet bills. This way, if anything came up, i would be able to pay with it. You can google credit cards for people with poor credit (http://www.credit.com/products/credit_cards/sub-prime.jsp) and come up with a few things. There are options.

The other thing, and i think this is a godsend, is CARE CREDIT (http://carecredit.com/) It is basically a credit company that gives you credit to use in cases of medical emergency, INCLUDING vet emergencies.. Or even just costly procedures, not nessecarily emergency. This company offers more competitve rates than the average credit card, and they also offer NO INTEREST for a good amount of months on certain amounts of money..

Either way, there are options out there, and with these options, you should not have an excuse to not get your pet to the vet. It really does need to happen. The pain and discomfort is not the only reason.. His overall health, and your overall budget will suffer in teh end.

Welcome to Petlovers!

I'm sorry your dog is not well. I think that Lindsay is right on with her advice. Your pup needs to be given some relief from his pain and discomfort. Please take her advice. She knows what she is talking about.

Agreed, I would call your vet and tell them your going to bring in a urine sample. Chances are, they can run a UA and prescribe a medication if needed without an exam..
