hope somebody out there can help our dog Jack is a Yorkie he started out with a rather large swelling on his back but now he is getting swelling in differant places and if you pull his hair back alot of it has a brownish colored thin scab over it and he is very itchy but has had a small stroke and cannot itch it but falls over trying if we rub it. He has had alot of ear infections and lately has been licking his feet and legs alot we thought it might be a type of yeast infection but would like some ideas and what we might do for him

I'm sorry your dog isn't well. What does your vet say about them? It could be an allergic reaction to something. There are Vet Techs that visit this site frequently that may be able to give you a better idea of what it could be. I would suggest that you take him to his vet if you haven't already done so. It sounds like he is miserable and needs some relief. Be patient, the vet techs will log in later tonight and perhaps will have some better guesses. Keep us updated!
Welcome to Petlovers, by the way!

Itching, ear infections, and the licking and chewing at the paws and legs points to a food allergy... Allergies are a system toxicity issue, the body will try and get the toxic stuff out the fastest way possible which is through the biggest organ, which the skin. This is why most food allergies show themselves through the skin and you see the itching, chewing, hot spots, etc. Ear infections have typically shown up as grain allergy, whereas the licking and chewing at the paws mostly points to protein. Try starting on a grain free food (Orijen, Evo, Acana Grainless, Wellness Core) for 2 months and see if he gets better, if he does then it's grains, if he doesn't, check the protein source and switch to a different protien source (example. if it's orijen regular adult variety try the 6 fish variety, if it's Acana Pacifica try the Grasslands).
