Oh my gosh! I'm so mad! I can't believe this was even allowed to happen.

Because my own birds were birds people threw away quite literally, I'm a troll and frequently look up near by parrot sanctuaries.

3 years ago, maybe more this sanctuary had a beautiful picture of an awsome little sun conure, fully feathered, and the words around it was, this bird is extremely aggressive and we need to get him out of the sanctuary quickly before one of the larger bird kills him or he kills one of the smaller birds or something to that effect.

well of course I was intrested. My little jenday is aggressive and I thought aha! maybe I can adopt and bring an aggressive little friend home that was a close relationship to her species instead of sharing the bird room with her nanday sisters so I inquired about the adoption fee.

I was so so mortified:
it was $400 I was told.

Shock!!!
that was a store price, not an adoption fee. Breeders of sun conures at most charge $275, at least the ones around here do, and so I of course wasn't about to pay $400 for a bird in need.

all I knew was I had room in my heart, room in my home, and could deal with Apollo's aggressive nature as I do Sage's.

What's extremely upsetting to me now, and I'd like to read them the riot act and get that bird someway, somehow out of their hot little hands,

their is a new picture of Apollo posted, this poor precious soul is completely bare on his breast, and am I ever mad!

They are trying to claim that another bird did this, but as far as I know any bird will never allow another bird to pluck it's breast. The back and the head and wings yes, but not the breast.

I'm so mad I could spit nails, and if this is what happens to a happy bird in a sanctuaries care, they aren't much of a sanctuary.

I'd love to rescue Apollo from them, adopt him myself if possible but I'd have to join their organization and attend their monthly meetings that is one whole state away,

So whether I can rescue him personally or not I sure want a true rescue to come in and get him moved into their care and out of their hands.

so what would the rest of you think?

Poor Apollo. Please pray for him, that he gets into better hands.

Awwww LadyLynn I am so sorry. It is a shame they kept him for 4 years and now he is in this state. Makes me so mad the fees they charge and call it an adoption.

thank goodness however, not sure if he can do anything about this poor birds situation, but he has at one time closed down a breeder, and so I'm hoping he can somehow rescue poor little Apollo. I told him about it and he started checking into it. Cross your fingers and keep praying that Apollo will get rescued.
