Here's another recipe. I havent' tried it yet....but will very soon. You may like to try it too.

3/4 cups whole wheat flour
1-1/2 cups Quaker oats
1/2 cup combined chopped dried chopped fruit, nuts, coconut
1/2 cup applesauce
1/3 cup dark molasses
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg

Mix it all together very well. Roll into 1 inch balls. (add more oats, egg, or applesauce to make desired consistency...should be stiff and stick together).
Bake at 325 degrees for 15-20 minutes...on a cookie sheet sprayed with PAM.

Cool. Just before serving dust with avian vitamins for a highly nutritious snack.

Sound good for birds and us. I think that is one of the many great things about birds. I don't know about everyone else, but I would never share the dogs food, but I share the birds food all of the time.

It may sound funny, but I think bird treats look very appetizing.

I have to agree with J - it sounds as if these cookies could be eaten by us and the birdies we so love. Now that fall is here I will crank up the oven and make some.
