I'm so excited everybody, and even nervous too.
I recently had my book published through Publish America.
it's called I Really Died & Survived.
I was really afraid to write it for a long time because of some of what did happen to me, but I'm still proud of my work.
It's a book my elder sister begged me to write after I was so critically injured.
I guess the company thought the book was worth $14.95, so we'll so what happens and what doesn't.
It can if you are interested find it on Amazon.com too.
I won't go into detail except to say it is what happened to me during my comatose state.

Oh yes, it is for sale, thanks to my publisher. They set the price, and moved it into Amazon.com, and also into Spring Arbor chain stores for me.
these are the two places as far as I know, perhaps three you can purchase any copy
http://www.publishamerica.com- this is my publisher.
the book sales for $14.95
it is a short, quick read.
and
http://www.amazon.com
and not sure how the spring arbor website works. I had never heard of it until Publish America told me about it, but I'm guessing their web address is
http://www.springarbor.com

Great - what is your next one about? :)

the next one, is going to be a work of fiction, and I currently have around 15 to 20 pages of it already written.
Fiction is soo much easier to do, but this one will have a twist of truth in it.
This one will be about living near a chemical weapons depot, as I have done for eight years.
The government spends millions of dollars on a program they believe will help them destroy those weapons and keep the residents safe, but in truth the government is waisting tax payer money to keep that useless program in place.
without saying who the real people are, I intend to structure the book so as to go into the lives of people, and "just make it seem that the ultimate disaster has happened.
The question will be will people get out of the area? Will they make it to safety, or will they become terribly ill and in some cases die?
What I hope to do, is give people a flavor of what the locals really feel, and are thinking, and give every one a taste of what really could happen.
part of the reason is to let people know what it is like living around a chemical weapons depot, the other part hopefully will be to hit home with the government to let officials know that they need to make some vast improvements to get the locals to at least see reason for what they are trying to accomplish.
However, this time around whether or not I use the same publisher is actually hinged on how well my first book does on the market and how my relationship with the publisher goes, because this time I also have a literary agent who said, why don't you place, I Really Died & Survived with my current publisher, but place my second book with them.
If I do that, "Time, and when the book comes out coulld be anywhere from 1 to 5 to 10 years.
I would hope not, but it could happen.
The third book is not my own, but one that belongs to my great Uncle John.
He was a very sweet and loving man. As a boy his parents were very wealthy, and he was being raised in a German Beer Garten. His father lost his fortune, and Uncle John was drafted into the German Army, but the call to come to America was too strong, and his book tells so much about what his life was like trying to get to America, and yet it was a time when the American borders were closed. It's an incredle story. It however is sad, that Uncle John is no longer living, but publishing this book was a promise I made to both my Aunt and Uncle, and sadly both are gone to heaven, but I fully intend to keep my promise to them.

I have also forgotten, I am also working on another book, concerned with exotic disabled birds so people who care for special needs birds can have some kind of a guide, and have hopeful feelings when they are discouraged when caring for a bird with special needs.
I do expect this project to take at least 5 years because it does require some digging.

that is so awesome!!!! I hope that once I'm out of high school I'll be able to write a book that I've been wanting to, I have the great imagination but writing it out needs some work so yay for senior year!!! That's great that you wrote a book and the appearence is very well done! Was it hard to contact and find the right publisher? That's the main thing I worry about if I do write the book.

yes it does require some shopping, and searching to find either the right agent and or publisher that is willing to take the type of work you've written.

Congratulations! That is so awesome having your book published and I am very interested in reading it. I have been wanting to right one for a while but am still in to much pain recovering from my last double spinal fusion to sit or lay in the same position for more then 15 mins. Everytime I try and write I can only get a few paragraphs down and then when i come back I loose my motivation. If you don't mind my asking, did you have the same situation or were your injuries not effect your writing? Congrats again and we hope it's sales go through the roof.:D

Ladylynn, I was reading one of your posts earlier and vaguely remembered this thread from when I first started looking around on this forum properly. So, I had a search around for it so I could find the name of the book. I'm going to order it.
As a wannabe writer myself, I just wanted to congratulate you on your success! Must be an amazing feeling to be published on a worldwide scale. And your book's gonna cost me a tenner! That's more than I paid for the Terry Pratchett one I read last! Good for you. :)
How you getting on with the next one? Nearly done yet? :)

I hope you do not get to upset LadyLynn about moving your thread but I had a complaint from a member about some other threads had been moved when they were advertising something that was for sale, so to not look partial I went ahead and moved this one but left a redirect so everyone knows where it is. Sorry........

Judy, no I'm not upset about it being moved, I just find it odd that it suddenly had to be moved so many many months after the post???
anyway, as per my other book, I'm mid stream with it, I keep changing the beginning, and new ideas keep cropping up so it might be a year and maybe year and a half before I finish polishing it to a publishing point.
thanks for the compliment.
it is a very short read, but as I said, my sis begged me to write it,.......
