Okay, this is going to be an ongoing thread (I hope). I'm going to be taking before and after pictures of our clients to put up on the wall at the shop. And I thought I'd let you guys see some of the cuter ones. I'll try to remember to get Trip next time he comes in.

This is Yoda, today was his second grooming. Not sure who they took him to for his first. But he was a total angel. Gave lots of kisses, and didn't even fuss when we had to tug on knots.

This is Little Bit. He and his sister, Leia came in together. I tried to get pictures of her, but was busy with other babies.

Oh how cute! They both looked so different after their visit. Great idea to share before and after pictures. I love it. I will be watching for more.

Great thread idea. Is Little Bit a teacup yorkie? My mom wants one really bad but would never pay the price for one.

he sure looks like one....by the way not to intrude or anything but i wouldn't pay for a teacup yorkie either. These people want twice the amount of money for a dog that is VERY fragile. THey are basically the runts of the liter and tend to have more health problems. And, any small complication can get worse a lot faster than with a regular yorkie. Sure, my yorkie came out a little bigger than standard size (she's 11 lbs...though she can stand to lose 2 lbs...so she's not that much bigger than a breed standard yorkie) but boy am i glad she's not as teeny as all the teacup yorkies i see in NY.

I once saw this girl accidentally kick her teacup chihuahua...she was too busy staring at the dogs in the dog run while walking her dog....poor thing limped about half a block until she finally decided to pick the poor thing up. Then another day i saw a lady bring all her little dogs (maltese and yorkies) to the dog run. They were all regular size but she had an itty bitty teacup yorkie in her hands and the poor thing had a cast on its hind leg and it could barely walk because the cast was heavier than its whole body.

so yeah...that's just my take lol...i hope you don't take offense.:) they are cute as heck though!

No offense taken, that's exactly her concern. Her curent dog (poodle/Chihuahua) has been on seizure meds since she was 2 (she's 10 this year) and the small dog she had before that died at 4 from seizure related issues. She doesn't want to drop $1000 on a dog that will probably have multiple health issues too, I think she's had enough of that.

No, Little Bit and Leia are toys, but not teacups. He weighed about 6 lbs, and she was about 5. They were definitely tiny, but not as tiny as I've seen. By the way, Little Bit is really misnamed. His 'family jewels' could put a rotty's to shame! LOL Unfortunately that's why Leia stays so matted, Little Bit spends his entire day humping her! She's spayed, thank God, but this lady really needs to get him neutered.

Yes, I really enjoy it. It's gonna be a few more days before my lower back quits complaining, but otherwise I'm good.

Yeah, they just don't make the tables high enough I find! Well, at least not for me, I'm 5"10.

I too refused to pay exorbitant prices for any dog no matter how cute so imagine my surprise when I found Kaya, my "toy" maltese at the shelter and to boot the adoption only cost $90 and included a full medical and dental! I have seen countless "toy" dogs at the shelter but they are usually adopted the minute they get in. Make sure to check the shelters and other pet adoption agencies instead of purchasing a dog. PS, the above doggie pictures are absolutely precious and i too will definately keep an eye out for this thread. Where is the groomer located?

That's what I"m thinking about doing, looking at rescues. My mom turns 60 on Aug. 4th, it would be a nice surprise for her.

The groomer is located about 1/4 mile off Lake Conroe, here in Texas. And I'm off work till Tuesday, but I'll definitely be taking my camera with me.

And Katie, I'm only 5'3", but the bathing tubs are where my problem lies. You have to bend over so much to wash the dogs and then pick them up.

Too bad you were not from CA. IF you were I would have definately taken lily and tigger to get groomed by you. You might not like handeling lily though, i heard from groomers that she is very hard to groom.

Isn't Yoda a character from star wars?? people say tigger looks like yoda all the time.

Love the cuts that you gave to little bit and yoda. :)

Yeah, Yoda is the ultimate Jedi master on Star Wars. I really think the pup Yoda looks like an Ewok, tho. But then none of the ewoks were named, LOL.

Anyway, here's today's baby. This is Harley, he's a pom mix, is round like a basketball (and about the same size) and has just one eye.

When he first came in:

And when he was done, (didn't take much hair off, just cleaned him up a bit):

This is Diego, our first groom today. As you can see from the photos he's quite large. He was a real pussycat, right up until we were taking the mats out of his tail. Then we had to muzzle him, but he was find afterwards.

I can't imagine my dogs having a bath every week like Rudy & Ricky!

Rudy and Ricky's mommy is very particular about her boys, too. The groomers I used to work at (and the groomer I work for now, did too) used to do them, and she quit taking them there because they didn't completely dry their ears, and they didn't completely brush them out. If you've never seen or had a Cavalier King Charles, they have long silky, extremely thick hair! Takes over an hour to blow dry one of them. And even then they sometimes are still damp under their ears!

We started on Cookie, only to discover an inch long gash in her shoulder, that looks a couple days old. We didn't want to be shaving around it until I can get it looked at, so this is all we did for her:
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o168/Ltlpistol/Purrdy%20Pawz/DSC02027.jpg

Here's Cash, not a good picture, sorry. But I did most of the shaving down on him, I have a LOT to learn!:
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o168/Ltlpistol/Purrdy%20Pawz/DSC02030.jpg

And Caley was a buggerbear! She was okay with us cleaning her feet and bottom and legs, but absolutely did NOT want us touching her face! I had to leave the room, and let Jennifer's daughter hold her before she'd behave at all!
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o168/Ltlpistol/Purrdy%20Pawz/DSC02023.jpg

I'll try to get better pictures of them tomorrow. They all got wet walking across the yard when we got home, so their feet and bellies are wet and dirty.
