Gigi had never been swimming before, but we got to go over to a friend's house and give it a try.

First I tried it with a life jacket (which was a crack up). She obviously was not happy!

But she swam out of the life jacket. So we took it off and she was much happier.

And here she is relaxing on the pool floatie:

I almost had a coronary when she swam out of the life jacket!! The small jacket was too small and obviously, the medium ended up being too big.

We showed her where the stairs were so she could swim to them and get out. And she would head for the stairs each time.

I don't think she hated it though. Because once she got out, her little tail would be wagging and she would be coming up to the edge of the pool. And then when I would get out of the pool to pick her up and bring her back in, she didn't try to fight me or anything.

My friend said that she did really good for the first time. That her dogs weren't nearly as comfortable when they were first put in the pool.

Gigi is all sacked out now. Swimming is very tiring. :p

It's great exercise for doggies, too! We take ours to the lake and drop them off the pier. It's only about 6 feet back to the lake's edge so they don't have to swim far, but they enjoy the cooling off. Haven't tried Caley at it, yet, though.

Gigi looks like a regular Betty Grable on that floaty! LOL

Looks like everyone had fun and the pictures of gigi swimming and on the float are cute.

She found the best spot in the pool when she found that floatie. She looks so content just to be there. :)

I, of course, got a nice sunburn. And somehow the chlorine of the pool stripped the red color from some of my hair and now my streaks of blond are showing again. [we had covered the streaks with red at my last hair appt but apparently chlorine can undo that.]

It seems so unfair that Gigi was able to hang out in the pool and sun bathe and she is fine. :p Although her fur is a little funky and she is going to get a bath soon.

She looks like she's happy just chillin there.
Yet the pic of her in the life jacket looks like she's gonna kill someone.

So cute! I'd love to find a pool to take the guys to.
