my budgie is getting more and more comfortable in his new home, but this morning all he has done for the past few hours is quickly pace back and forth on the bottom of his cage! is this some kind of neurotic behavior?
i let her out and she hopped to the floor for a few minutes, then climbed back up to the cage. i did this twice and he's now back in his cage pacing again!
im worried there might be something wrong?

He may be worried about something near his cage. Look around and see if anythings been moved closer. My Budgie always paced while we swept.
My parakeet also loved to pace back and forth with his beak against the cage and talk/scream at it.
If there is nothing around that will hurt him let him and go about your daily routine as normal. You may also want to put a small towel over one corner of his cage so that he has a safe place to chill.
Good luck your baby still has more adjusting to do.

Pacing is nothing to worry about. YOur bird either came unhinged over a noice or tthinks he's board and is searching for something to do, but is perhaps not quite sure what he needs or wants to do, and yes. covering the cage will definately help calm him down.
Pacing is quite natural.
