Hi everyone, I'm new to the board. I've only been a member for a week or so. :p
Alright, this is a spin on the worst toy you've bought for your dog -- what is the best toy you've bought your dog -- the one he's loves the most?
I would have to say that those little Dingo balls w/ the chicken meat strip is the best. He loves anything he can destroy and he likes that if he works at it long enough, he can "destroy" it. I've bought him the sticks and the little bones after I saw how much he loved the balls, but the balls are still his favorite. He likes the others, but nothing compared to the balls.
He, also, loves ice cubes. Those aren't bought, naturally, but those are another of his favorites. He also, love paper, napkins, etc... but I don't let him play with anything like that. So, I've been in search of other toys he can "destroy".
What toys do your dogs like?

Well, my Jake loves tennis balls, he even puts it in his food dish, so he can keep an eye on it. I buy him the real tennis balls a little more expensive, but they last alot longer than the pet store ones, because he like chew on them and break them in a day or two, so in the long run the real ones are cheaper because they don't break for a long time. And he loves his stuffed Santa Clause, he has not ruined it yet and he's had it since christmas, I've had to wash it a few times but it still looks almost new, he even knows which toy to get when I ask him where is his Santa.

Hello! My rottie totally destroys anything I get him, along with our other dogs toys. They both love ice cubes, I put them in the water dish and watch them fish them out. Oreo, my border collie mix likes stuffed squeaky balls, if she can fetch she thinks she is "working". Does anyone have a suggestion for the destroyer, this would be Kodi my rott. He loves to play and doesn't seem to know how destructive he is. any toys he can't tear to shreds?

kodis.kin, I have a rottie also. Jake doesn't destroy his stuff, but I had a female that destroyed everything, until I discovered the indestructable ball, I dont remeber where I got it from it was so long ago, I'm sure it was at a pet store but it survived her and nothing else did. It's made of a very hard plastic and about maybe 14" diameter and blue in color. If I see it in a pet store I'll let you know which one, because it is indestructable.

thanks cat & dog mom,
I will look for something like that. Poor kodi likes stuffed "babies" and will guard them with his life, but can't resist the temptation to start tearing them up. When I take them away he cries like a baby. I let him keep one after I took out the stuffing, and he carried it around until it was just a little shred of fabric.LOL

Matilda, the JRT, loves balls. Any ball. From basketballs to the tiny kitty sized tennis balls. She is absolutely obsessed.
Cassie, the BC mix, loves stuffed animals, but she doesn't tear them up. Her favorite is a purple monkey. When I ask her where "Grape Ape" is, she runs and brings it to me. She's had that one since she was a puppy - almost 5 years!

I can't remember what it's called "spring" something...but swayzee loves it. It's like a bungee cord tied up high in a tree with a towel tied to it. She hangs on it and argues with it and tries to pull it and even catapults it across the yard! We got her some kongs that she hasn't been able to eat up but boo has chewed them all up!

My dogs favorites toys are just old socks tied into knots making a long chain, like 3 foot! They pull, chew, and play with these things like they are just the best thing. Great for teething too. Also ice cubes love to slide them around on the floor and crunch on them, especially if its hot out. They destroy almost every ball I've ever got them.

Hi, I just wanted to pop in and warn you about letting your dogs chew on tennis balls. The glue that holds the tennis balls together will wreck your dog's teeth. It wears away the enamel so badly that it just destroys them so please, don't let your dogs chew on tennis balls or you could have a major vet bill getting your dog's teeth fixed!!!!!!

We had Sam a month when we got him the best toy he could ever wish for - his brother Spike. It doesn't matter what toy they have, it only has to be big enough for both of them to chew at the same time. They are inseparable. Heaven forbid if they ever destroy each other! LOL
Another note on tennis balls - don't let your dog get TOO attached to them. my Shiba Inu, Bear, LOVES them but we can't let him have them because he just gets soo territorial with them and won't give them back to us. His favorite toy is his flippy frizbee thing. He'll whip it around and go run after it. It's basically a soft bendy frizbee. He loves it!

Mi bird mom, do you remember where you got the info about the tennis balls? I would like to read about it and become more informed before I take away Jakes favorite thing in the world, I don't really know if I could bare to take them away from him. He is such a happy dog and doesn't ask for much.
Kaye, you just need to teach them to drop it when you ask them to, Jake will drop anything I ask him to even a piece of steak in his mouth.

Bodhi loves to mangle his squeeky stuffed animals, and always up for a dog to dog stuffed animal tug of war.

Dusty has a stuffed dog that is bigger then him (not for long though ) so he uses as a pillow. That would be fine but it barks whenever you press it or sometime is on it, so when he falls asleep on it, it keeps barking over and over again. It's sometimes annoying but it keeps him busy. =)

My labs (Harley) favorite toys are a big rubber pencil that I got the day I brought him home (actually he's on the second one) and his soft frizbee. My pugs favorite toy is anything Harley has!!!
