Try using a newspaper or water spray bottle on your kitten anytime it shows preditor interest in your bird, with a stearn "NO". I had a cat once that did the same thing when I babysat my moms cockatiel years ago. It would stalk the bird, of course I never took the bird out of the cage unless my cat was locked up. In time, my cat lost interest in the bird. Be sure your bird is up and out of reach so the kitten cannot get to the cage. If no one is home, I would lock the kitten up or put the bird in a closed room, dont ever leave them together unsupervised... better to be safe than sorry. I've heard that birds are known to have heart attacks when they do get scared. Good luck and congrats on your new feather-kid ;) .

Tyro i guess am very fortunate.Babba loves other animals and wouldn't hurt one.He even has some wild bird friends that trust him.Hes six years old and has never harmed another animal.Oh he goes outside a lot when we go camping.
One thing that will entice a animal to kill other animals is feeding them raw meat. They get the taste of fresh blood and they will kill to eat it.They train dogs espically with raw meat.
I believe your kitten will be fine with the bird in time.Just show the kitten you love the bird to.
