Well....I guess it is official. I have found a breeder that I think will give Buddy a great home. I have had endless email conversations and I am fairly convinced that Buddy will have a better quality of life there. It is the site Jenny was talking about where the Macaws are. We are to meet in Omaha 2 weeks from today. He has offered different birds for trade and I have decided on a green cheeked conure. He is a hand fed baby...I will know the sex when I go for the trade. I have talked to several people about the GCC and all....so far....are in agreement that the GCC will make a great pet. It will be hard to say good bye to Buddy...but I do believe it is better this way. I wonder what the difference in personalitys are between a male/female GCC? Does anyone know? Now...........if Buddy would quit looking at me with those big black eyes as if to say.....TRAITOR..... :( .........*sigh*

Will the breeder keep you informed on how Buddy's doing? I hope so! I'm very interested to know how the new situation will affect him (oops, her), if she'll breed, etc. I think you've made the right decision though. Hope you enjoy your green-cheek! They are so much fun. I don't know if there's much difference between male and female. Well give Buddy lots of good-bye treats from us! He's lucky to have gotten to live with you.

My computer has been down for a while so I missed quite a bit lately. Isn't Buddy the quaker? Are you giving him up because of the picking? Oh fill me in here. Wait, Buddy is the Mustash Parakeet right? Oh I'm so confused. I'm having another Blonde moment. :p You'll have to refresh my memory. I had a green cheeks a long time ago. They are wonderful. They kind of remind me of Quakers with their funny antics but mine didn't talk. I think you'll be very happy a Green Cheeks!

Buddy sure will make some good looking baby birds if she does breed. I'm sorry you have to lose her but I don't remember you saying anything about having to give her up. is it because of Dexter?
good luck with your GCC they are very good birds

Hi Judy,
Good for you making a hard decision for what is best for all concerned. I know you'll enjoy a green cheeked -- especially since you are getting him/her as a baby. Good Luck with everything!

Judy- thought I'd better mention this. When you get your GCC, have as many people hold/play/feed him as possible! They tend to overbond with one person and can be aggressive towards others. Or, they'll bite their favorite person in order to get them away from less favorable people/animals (Kirby used to bite me hard when I was near Mortie, to get me away)! I think if you make a big effort to socialize the baby while it's young there'll be a much smaller chance of that problem happening.

To fill in everyone who is not familiar with Buddy...short version....lol...
I got Buddy when she was 4 months old, she had already been in 2 homes and was for sale again....I bought her...brought her home and it's been a roller coaster every sense. She's very aggressive and territorial....just about the time I think we are making progress she resorts back to her former self. She's also very loud and this has been a sore subject with my husband from day one... :( .....so after a long time thinking of what to do and talking to numerous breeders I decided she might be better off with a breeder. I think I have picked a good one and I will get updates on her. Soooo I just wish it was a done deal....I can't hardly stand to look at her without feeling this enormous guilt trip. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
