Happy Birthday, Tosca

Today's Tosca's 2nd birthday. Here's a tribute to her, from pics the first day I got her (her coat was very dull, coarse, and dry) to my favorites, and how she looks today. She's been an awesome friend, better than I could have hoped for.

We got home from Montana on a Thursday, I went to the shelter on Memorial day (Monday), saw her, and brought her home on Tuesday. She was in a cage with 6 kittens about her age. She had a sister that was almost identical to her - their shelter names were Moon and Stars. I asked one of the workers which one was crazier, and he said Moon, and I said "I'll take her!" I knew I wanted her the minute I walked in (she was right next to the door in the first cage). I looked at all the kitties to be sure, but I was sure.

This first picture is her first moments out of her carrier and into Kyle and I's lives. I kind of feel bad that Kyle didn't get to help pick her out, but he's never been disappointed in my decision. (He had class when I went to the shelter....I couldn't wait!)

Lots of people ask where I got her name. While we were living in Montana for the summer, I watched a lot of Meerkat Manor, so that's where I got it. I knew we were getting a kitty, so it was hard living in Montana and loving it, but anticipating finally getting my own animal. :)

Yeah, she's got a lot of character for sure. I miss her. Every time I call Krystal I can hear Tosca in the background. Makes me sad that I'm away from both of them right now. :( (we need a little emoticon with tears)

Don't let the 'cute, innocent angle' fool you too much. While she may be cute, she is definately not innocent.:eek:
