Ruffie, my wolfdog, passed last year. She was 12 and the first dog I ever had.
Here is Lilly, we found at the shelter a few months after Ruffie passed. Then...and now, LOL:

Geat pictures and what a great way to show them off. Sorry about Ruffie....losing a pet to death is always very hard. So, he was a wolfe hybrid or something else?

I apologize for being away and not posting a reply to all of you.
My Ruffie (short for Ruffian) was a beautiful 80% British Columbian timberwolf/20% husky-hybrid. She was a dear and gentle little soul.
She was given to me in 1995 when she was only 12 weeks old, as some help for me as I was recovering from being shot (used to be a cop).
I had never had a dog before, and I always loved wolves, so my first hubby gave her to me to spur me on with healing. Oh, it worked! Over the years, my feline brothers and sisters were always with me, of course, but my canine sister went with me everywhere. I couldn't get my cats to do that, LOL!
She saw me through the worst times of my life, and when my hubby passed in 1999, she was right there for me.
I eventually remarried and moved on to live, with her and the cats by my side.
Last Memorial Day, 2007, she suffered a ruptured mass in her abdomen and the vets couldn't stop the bleeding, so I had to have her put to sleep.
That was awful for me.
But you can see that Lilly, my little pound puppy, came along, and now she's a big one-year-old girl, and she is now my constant companion.
I still miss Ruffie dreadfully, but Lilly is wonderful and I just adore her!
