My dog can't stand up.

My dog is having a problem where she can't stand up. She just seems really weak and unstable, and kind of leans over to the side. I was looking on the internet and it kind of sounds like the vertigo dogs can get some times. So hopefully its that and not something worse thats more serious.

I think she will be ok, if she can just eat and drink. My big problem however is that she is a pretty big dalmation. So I don't think I can carry her around all over, especially with her squirming around. I tried to help her up but then she just falls back over. So that makes it difficult if I cant get her outside to pee, or even get her over to the vet, or anything.

So first I am looking for any advice on how I can get her up and moving around. And then secondly, If anyone knows about her other problem.

Find some one to help you get the dog into the car and take it to the vet. Or look for a mobile vet who will come to you. Nobody on an internet forum can diagnose your dog.

With the limited information you have given it could be anything from an inner ear problem to something neurological.

i agree with evey....it could be tons of problems with out proper diagnosis it may get worse in time the time spent not taking her to the vet could be used to get some labs done

Please get your dog to the vet asap. I had a 124lb rottie that was blind and had arthritis. My husband and I would have to carry her to the car and bring her to the vet for shots for her arthritis. If you are by yourself, have someone help you carry her to your vehicle and I am sure the staff at the vet will help you bring your dog in.

You don't have anyone that can help you get the dog into the car? If your dog can't get up, it needs to see a vet ASAP. Have you tried calling local vet hospitals to see if any will make a house call?
