My 6 wk old pit puppy has bigger front paws than the back paws, is that somewhat normal or some kind of a defect.

Perfectly normal--look at an adult dog, and their front paws look wider and rounder than back paws. Unless they are insanely bigger, it's nothing to worry about. If you're concerned, ask your vet when your pup goes in for his next shots.
