I am a beginner intrested in leopard geckos and was wondering
if anyone knew a reputable pet store that had healthy lizards?

I have had bad experiences with petco  because the leos were really
banded geckos native to america!

thank you for your help

Welcome to Petlovers! I agree with not wanting to buy from PetCo or other similar chain stores (I've had bad experiences with them myself). I have no idea where you live (knowing where would be helpful) but the best advice I can give would be to call a vet clinic in your area that deals with reptiles, and ask them who they'd recommend. If by any chance you don't get any good recommendations of reptile breeders from them, look in the back of REPTILES magazine, or ask other leopard gecko owners where they got theirs. Good luck with your search!

You can try: http://www.geckoranch.com/leopard.html I have heard nothing but good about them. I don't know if you want to have a gecko shipped to you or not (which is not too harmful; that's how I receive all my reptiles), but you could just go to www.google.com and type in "leopard gecko breeder" or go to http://market.kingsnake.com/index.php?cat=10 and if you find a gecko you particularily like, go to www.faunaclassifieds.com and register, then post in the Original Board of Inquiry (BOI) about the seller of that gecko (do this BEFORE you buy it!!) so you can know if this dealer is known to be a good guy or bad guy.

Good luck, there are TONS of leo breeders out there, just have to find one you like. :)
