Chipotle and Cool Whip's 2nd Meeting

...it was either last night or the night before, I let the rats meet each other on a closer note. I used me and the two cages to form a small area where they could run back and forth between cages and meet each other on their own terms. It worked out surprisingly well. Of course, I got pictures!

At first, they jumped out of their cages and ran across the little area and inspected each other's cages.

Then, something spooked them and they went back to their respecting cages. Chipotle was the more curious one, but definitely not the dominant rat much to my surprise.

Chipotle must have talked Cool Whip into finding an exit, because they seemed to team up on me after a bit.

Chipotle spent A LOT of time in Cool Whip's cage, smelling, eating, and taking food from Cool Whip's cage to her own.

And Cool Whip would not stop smelling and licking the bottom of my shoe...it was the weirdest thing! Makes me wonder what I stepped in.

lmao, I can't believe I'm learning about rats! To top it off, I'm starting to find them cute (as long as they have hair :p ). Will wonders never cease?

I'm glad the second meeting went well.

One of the better methods I have heard of is in the tub with the water running. They'll get spooked and go to each other for comfort which will actually help them bond.

It doesn't always work, but may be something you could fall back on just in case. ^_^

Glad that Chipotle has found a friend. Cool whip's poor face is not looking much better to my uneducated eye, is there any progress?

...I've a hard time looking at this thread tonight. :( So, if my post doesn't make sense...let me know, I'll try again tomorrow.

...Cool Whip is doing better. The scabs are receeding (sp?) back leaving bald spots. They are also 'browning'...like they're healing, but you can't really see either of those in a picture.
