I have a Bassett Hound. . . could you tell by the name? LOL.
Two questions:
1) How long does it take to house train a male dog (I have always had females)? I don't want to get the pads because of the cost, and he is either put in a crate or tied up to the kitchen cabinet when I am busy and can not watch him. When I go out, or at night, he is in the crate.

2) How do you get rid of that "wet dog smell" that he has so badly? I have given him baths, and that really doesn't seem to cut it. It's like he has bad B.O. HELP PLEASE!

How old is Bogie? Just like human babies, puppies need time to get bladder and bowel control.

Are his ears ok? Dogs with floppy ears can be prone to ear infections which can cause an odor.

I agree with macassie... just keep working on the potty training, males or really no different than females and has he had a vet check lately?. Smell his ears.. if they are real stinky, he may have an ear infection and will need to go to the vet. Good luck with your little stinker ;)

He is approximately 4 months old. He does have some wax in his ears, but he has not been scratching them. I wipe out his ears every few days with either a clean washcloth (goes in the washer immediately afterwards) or a paper towel.
