This is a picture of our daughters pet, Neshoba. He is just 9 months old so you can see how big he will be when fully grown! She had his dad (Max) for years and he was 50% wolf and 50% German Shepherd. Someone, who we never found out, saw fit to poison Max:( while he was out in his daytime pen that had a concrete run in it. By the time Wendy got him and realized he was not feeling well it was to late. The vet said it was some high powered stuff and a lot of it. We never understood why because he never hurt anything in his life. Wendy and Max were very bonded to each other and she was deeply hurt by all this. For some reason she had permitted her girl friend to breed Max with her German Shepherd and now she is so happy she did as Neshoba carries on his dads legacy AND I might add.....Neshoba stays in the house all the time now.:)
Thought I might add that she lives way down in Arkansas, it is beautiful down there. These pictures were taken last month

Neshoba is turning in a very handsome fellow. How wonderful that Wendy has a bond with another from Max's heritage. Great he is allowed in the house all the time now.

He's beautiful. I also have a wolf hybrid in my extended pet family. They are so much fun and so beautiful.

He's beautiful! I used to have a wolf/malamute that was about 100 lbs at 6 mos. He was just the greatest dog in the world, until he discovered the taste of chickens, fresh out of the coop! :(
I was home alone all day, with two small children, and pregnant with my third, but I never worried about anybody bothering me way out in the boonies where we lived. They'd take one look at Lobo and run, not walk, the other direction. He looked like a really huge wolf!
Beautiful puppy! I used to have a 1/2 wolf. He was the smartest dog I ever met.

Thanks for all the compliments, Wendy spoils him rotten but he does mind good. I had to ask her what Neshoba meant and this is what it means. The heritage of the name is from the Choctaw Indians meaning "White Wolf" I think the name suits her very well.

Wendy had a funny story about Neshoba the other day. There is a loose chicken down there that nobody knows where he came from but was hanging out in her yard and the neighbors. Well, this chicken was having great fun with Neshoba because he had calculated how far Neshoba could reach from his place where he gets tied out to when it is pretty down there and he just wants to lay in the sun:cool: . Well, one day Neshoba was all stretched out just soaking up some sun and the chicken got brave and got just a tad closer than ever before....in one quick second Neshoba was on his feet and the chicken was pinned down by one paw:eek: . Wendy was trying to get to him before he hurt the chicken and got the taste of blood. She said she got up there and stopped and could not believe her eyes. Neshoba was actually playing with this chicken...she said he was licking on him and gathering him up in one leg like a protective mother:rolleyes: . She was laughing so hard she could hardly tell me the story. So she got the chicken and let him go and Neshoba was like....awwww man, I was just playing......it appears now he and the chicken are "friends" and Wendy said she hopes it stays that way.

Yes,it was a very trying time for her. We were just talking about him today....he was one of those pets that are so unique and special that is a 1 in a thousand odds that you have a pet in your life that you are bonded all through life and even after they are gone. I am going to try and find a picture of Max to post.
